Why Aren't More Warriors Hooking Up Their Profile to Their Facebook Account?

Hey Warriors,

Facebook is huge!

Warrior forum is huge for networking and interacting with fellow IMers!

But I notice so few warriors have taken the time to connect their facebook account with their warrior forum profile.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no angel in this department , just recently hooked mine up, but it is something more of us should be doing, it's a great opportunity!

So come make friends with me on Facebook and hook up your accounts with your profile, extend your network!

Networks are so important and powerful in IM.

1) User CP

2) About Me

3) Select facebook

4) When entering your facebook url only enter what is after the .com/

For example:

My facebook profile url is:

Rob Stafford | Facebook

but you just enter rob.stafford13

as your facebook contact info)

    The reason why I haven't hooked my facebook or twitter account is becuase I don't have one, nor do I want one. Please don't tell me the benefits of having one either, been there done that, results sucked. PERIOD.

      Yeah I cant see a reason to do it unless you are like charlie sheen.

      But then again, if you were charlie sheen you really wouldnt know if you awake or asleep or WINNING!! LOL

      I am actually thinking bout ditching twitter and facebook have heard a few big name marketers are doing the same. I can see why myself, but i guess it is up to the individual. Social marketing is still pretty big.

        My Facebook is for personal activities. Also, I have co-workers as friends on Facebook and I don't want to anyone at my job to know about my IM activities for the time being.

    You know that is a big help! You are going to have more and more people who don't have a clue! This economy has everyone trying to hang on to their last little bit of hope that they have. I am not trying for a sympathy party @ all here, But I am a stay at homemother with 4 children and all my x wanted to do was party it up! I TOOK CARE OF EVERYTHING! Now, as struggling w/children, child support & having a family that needs my help (keeping up w/the internet was not an option for me). I am trying here whole-heartedly for 2 mo's now with the Plug In Profit Site - and I am not complaining it is my lack of knowledge and time to put forth in it. I WILL NOT QUIT - it is not in me, but if people could be more specific and helpful towards people like me it would be nice & when I understand more I am willing to do the same... I know what it feels like to be captive for years of your life. : ) not complaining here I would not have wanted to miss what he did... and nothing can replace memories with your children!

      I haven't because the Facebook account I have is my personal account and I tend to keep business and personal separate. Plus, I don't even like Facebook and rarely use it. I am planning on building a page for my business, though, and once I do, then I'll attach it here.

    Yeah I have a personal account and a business account too, but even with my tiny business fb account I can see a little traffic coming through, which is targeted, free, and viral... pretty powerful stuff.

    I keep my FB profile for my personal friends ( a few business associates) and personal use, not for business.
    (Fan Pages are different)

    I get enough spam now without adding a thousand marketers into the mix.

    I love Facebook. I've re-connected with a bunch of my old
    high school friends and we have a ball there pretty much every
    day.

    The last thing I'm going to do is pollute it with a bunch of
    marketing people.... LOL. When I need to know what you all

      That.

      I had about a dozen marketers as 'friends' on Facebook and they took over my wall - sales pitches every few hours, large graphics that took up 25% of my screen, having to scroll way down to find posts from friends and family . . .

      When I defriended them, my account became an enjoyable place to visit.

      As for following marketers on Twitter . . .

        I don't feel any privacy really online, and as long as it is all just humans signing up, I don't really worry about who is there and how many want to be my friend, etc. Anything I really want hidden or private, I don't put online anywhere. And any real close friends have my phone number for private conversation (not that that is truly private either :rolleyes lol

        Most who find me on facebook get a big bite of gaming application crumbs left on my wall. Occassionally something I'm promoting might spew in there from a tweet or blog post. I'm actually in the process (well, it is on the to do list) of cleaning it up a bit and making some special pages for the marketing stuff. Someone can contact me there if I'm there, but that is usually as far as it goes and I like to take the real conversations to a completely different place - like skype.

        Just so you know, that small talk chit chat stuff annoys the hell out of me if I don't know you personally and you try to use it to talk to me. :p But perhaps FB etiquette is another thread all together.

    I agree with Rob, you guys are missing out on many possible JVs, product launches and business opportunities here.

    I have a business account where I am actually more online nowadays than on the personal, and got in touch with super affiliates, internet marketers, can check what events are coming up, etc. It is really limitless, also generating around 40-50 opt ins autopilot from FB alone. without doing anything.

    and do not mention that you can actually make good income from FB too.

    I have 2 FB accounts, 1 personal and 1 business. I can see myself shutting down my business account, why? I have over 3000 marketing 'friends', 98% of who I have never spoke to, if i tried to network with them all I would never have time to make money. Also the spam is unbearable, I am going to start from scratch again and add only marketers I know and will network with.

      Bingo! Right on the money there. I no longer use my business account because instead of having people who you can bounce ideas off or chat to about IM related topics, you get people trying to spam you with the latest JV launches.

      I linked my Facebook account for a while, and I accepted anyone who friended me. Unfortunately I ended up with alot of random people who I'd never met, or even had any contact with here on the forum.

      I've since removed all those people as I decided it was better to keep my personal life, 'personal' (hope nobody takes offence!). IM & personal life just didn't work well together. Now I only have about 50 of my closest friends and family on my Facebook account, and I've decided to keep it that way.

      I actually set up a new Facebook account a few days ago though just for the purpose of friending IM acquaintances and contacts, joining IM groups etc. I think it will work better to keep work and personal separate.

      I'm like most here in that I keep my personal stuff and IM stuff separate. I do have a few IM friends who I've friended on FB but honestly, I keep busy enough with other stuff. Maybe someday I'll try using FB to network or drive traffic but I don't see it in the near future for me.

    I have a Facebook Account for personal interaction with friends only, and am intending to set up a business account just to add fellow warriors or internet marketers for any discussions or potential business associations.

    The reason why I did not want to use my pretty big personal account (700++ friends) is because I wish to keep it personal among my personal friends and colleagues. Also, I do not wish to let my boss or fellow colleagues know of my IM endeavour due to company's policy.

    That being said, I am also aware that having a business account with all internet marketers might end up with me having to see my wall full of launches and affiliate promotions. Guess I will just see how it goes.

    I made the mistake of friending some of my offline clients on facebook. Now I have to be careful what I post, because I tend to cut up with my fb friends. It's hard to mix business and personal in the same account. By doining that, you can't really give either one 100%. My clients probably don't want to see random goofy photos of me, my kids, or my high school buddies - and my friends don't want to see my business-related posts. In fact, I get "threats" from my friends every time I try to impart some social media marketing wisdom through fb. You have to understand that both groups friend you for different reasons. You'll tend to favor one group and alienate (or bore to death) the other group. Just my two cents.

    I have just added my Twitter account, and not the FB account. Why? Because my FB account is my personal account, and I do not like to "friend" strangers. Whereas, I use my Twitter account for networking with fellow mates.

If I haven't talked to you in 15 years since the end of High School, why would I want to now? And quite frankly, some use it just to feed their ego: LOOK HOW MANY "friends" I have!. Give me a break.       So true Rob. That's one of the reason's many fail at IM. They try to master everything out there under the sun. Just like the old adage:

      "Jack of all trades, master of none"
      Focus on what works then make solid business decisions on other tools. Just jumping on Facebook or anything else because it's hot is what's really crazy.

      I've working full time on IM since 2007. Facebook is way down on the list for me. I still have an old MySpace account somewhere too.

    Different people have different views about this, but what I think it that it could be good to attach only if you are a renown member here since it could help you a lot with marketing.

    lot of spot on answers here. I tried having a "business" FB and "personal" FB account and it didn't work. All of the old high school, college friends, ex-boyfriends and other people I had hoped to never hear from again found the business one.

    I only log onto Facebook to spy on my son. Can't stand it. People give waaay too much info about what they're doing and how they're feeling at any particular moment (with pics to prove it). If I use FB again, it will be through one of my outsourcers.

    I'm glad to see that this is such an active thread but there does seem to be some negativity toward facebook as a spam mechanism.

    Like anything if you provide quality and use it correctly it can be extremely powerful.

    Apparently there are 2 different school of thoughts here which I can totally understand and respect. I agree with Rob (ccmusicman- he is my idol.. Lol) that there are several business model and platforms which that one can embark on, to earn lots of money, and Facebook is one of them.

    Different people have different experiences, and i am glad to have this forum and thread to "listen" to the sharing of fellow warriors about their personal experiences with Facebook Marketing. Keep it going!

    I just un-connected my Facebook account from my WF profile. I don't want to mix my personal account with business. Once I setup a FB page for my IM stuff I'll connect it to that. Until then disconnected.

      Well, my Facebook account is for family and friends. I have some internet marketers on there also, but they are friends. But I learned a long time ago that if you want to be successful in this business, find one thing and try to get good at doing that.

      I happen to be working on one thing at the moment and going to pay attention to that. Facebook and Twitter is a different concept and I think you should focus on that solely if you expect to get good at marketing to them.

      Example: If you are getting 10 15 opt-ins daily from your PPC set-up then you can look at other ways to generate leads.

      The mistake I see marketers make is to work on too many thing at one time. If your are looking for success then consistency is the answer, and that means different things to people.

      To me, consistency means on a regular basis. (every other day). I would like to do it everyday but other things come up sometime.

      Originally, we entered long IDs with numbers in them for Facebook (many of us did here). Once we converted those to vanity names, it's often easy to forget to revise them here (OK, did that )

      Plus some people have too many friends and can't add more, and others are in limbo for adding too many too fast (might need to wait 48 hours). Happened to me before, too

    Does the facebook link on wf still work anymore? on the wf profile they ask for an id number which I dont know what it is. Also, when I click on other profiles its usually 'page not found'

    My main reason for not doing it is that I'm afraid I would spend too much on Facebook. I know I'm going to have to do it one day, but I'm hoping to outsource it so I can stay off there.
