You NEED to focus on youtube Traffic.

There are so many IM'rs who are still behind the times, unfortunately! The fact of the matter is, youtube traffic, if targeted is VERY HIGH QUALITY and CONVERTS!

I have youtube video's in a number of niches, which point back to squeeze pages, etc. I also rank fairly high on google in these Niches. (both the video's and the sites)

Guess what? The youtube traffic stays on the site 50% longer then the organic visitors. Why? I'm not sure. I guess people who are watching video's are more attentive then people who are just browsing around..

Since I have started using youtube video's to promote my products, I've also seen a sharp increase in conversions, It's not uncommon for my to see 4%+ ratios!

Video promotion is the key folks!

Food for thought!

Agreed. Simply put, video is much more engaging than plain text or static images.

    • Quite interesting. I've always wondered a little about Youtube, because I'm not sure the viewers are in a buying mindset when they watch videos. I think IM is all about the sales funnel and where your traffic is coming from, and what mindset they are in.

It seems I need to investigate Youtube further though. Thanks

Quite honestly, I didn't really thing it was that big of a deal until I started to look deeper into my analytics.. I was quite amazed that the quality of traffic from my youtube video's is actually better.

My video's are pretty much niche related, no bait and switch. People actually are looking for the stuff my video's are about.

However, even with that being said, they LOS on my website is longer than organic visitors which tells me 1 thing.. Make more targeted youtube vids!

I think the hardest type of youtube video promotion is comoditized promotion. And I believe you're correct.. unboxing video's -or- comparing video's would be the best.

Popular product will get you thousands of views, within the video you have toTELL the person to visit the site (or click link below) .. as most visitors will just be aimlessly clicking on all the dfferent product video's until someone TELLS them to go somewhere else!

These type of video's take a little more effort, but once you have a well established channel, with a lot of subz, you'll be golden!

Definitely. YouTube is the way to go. Especially if you can create engaging videos, the amount of visitors you can get off these videos is just super.

I can agree that FB can provide high quality traffic also. However, my YT visitors stay on my site longer than all other traffic methods..google, facebook, twitter, etc..

Agreed. Social networking sties (TWitter, Facebook etc.) are also potential platforms to get targeted traffic and also to convert visitors into leads/sales.

Video marketing also have a huge potential and is also easy to get started with. But for people who aren't ready for video marketing, they are happy with Twitter and FB.

Video is so big these days.

But here is our little tips that we are finding powerful with youtube since the start of 2011

    1) you can create very good vids off some of your best articles. Camtasia style. People still like watching these.

    2) You can add them to blog comments and links to make sure you blog comments are not spam.

    3) SEOíng your title and description, and meta tags is very important.

    4) piggy backing off other successful videos is very smart. Look for what is hot and popular and try to work that into your video title and or content.

    5) Get others to share your vids with their subscribers, we are also having tremendous results doing this. I have found making friends with people on youtube email is very easy....but many cause I am an Aussie and my accent is loved by all (dunno why but lol)

    Hi there,

How do you do create videos? This is something I have been wanting to do but I just don't think I have the talent...and don't know what to use. I have heard of camstudio, camtasia being too expensive right now for me.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

I use a variety of tools to create my video's, depending on what type of niche I'm in or what type of Video it will be. for Reality style Video's I use my Camera and good lighting. For Informational type of video's I use camtasia/powerpoint , for promotional video's I use all of the above. I'm probably leaving out a few but those are the main ones that I use.

I've recently tried something completely new that improved my traffic quite a bit:

My traffic funnel begins with Youtube (where I place a link in the description).

This link leads to a Facebook fan page...which contains plenty of links to the main site and this has been surprisingly effective.

What a great idea John. I'm a huge fan of you tube. It's so easy to optimize if you know how to pick the right keywords specifically for you tube and google both (there are certain words and phrases that will show up in both search engines) and if you know a bit of seo.

I loved your facebook fan page idea. Some thing I know little about. Seems that it would work well as a sandwich page to direct visitors. Looks like I got a new thing to learn
