Wordpress Upgrade - Help with Static Front Page

Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help me. I have installed the latest Wordpress upgrade
to a new domain/site I'm working on.

I have 2 issues:

1) I would like to create a static front page.
I go to settings-->reading settings, but there is no front page display option.

2) Which is becoming real annoying...
The dashboard is not present when I go to any of the options.
I have to continually hit the back button to navigate.

I have installed this twice today. Just becoming more familiar with files, FTP and such...
I have been pretty much dead in the water today, so to speak.

I have no idea why the front page option is missing.

Has anyone else encountered the same problem with the dashboard I have?

I'm using the flexibility theme if that helps.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Kevin

The option is not displayed unless you have already Pages created in Write > Write Page.

      Thanks,

      I should have clarified...

I have already written a page. I need to make that my static home page.

      Any issue with the dashboard?

        DOH!

It has to be published first!

        Thanks for the help.

I'm still annoyed having to us the back button just to get around the dashboard...

        Thanks again.
