How to get a static, permanent Post to use at top of WP Blog ?

I want to have a non changing, permanent Post at the top of my WP blog describing one of my products . How would I do that ??

    You can make a PAGE into your home page:

    In wordpress dashboard go to:
    Settings > Reading

    Then select Static Page instead of Your latest post.

    Now, I have never done this with a POST but I have seen a plug-in that does that. Unfortunately I do not remember the name.

    ^^ Disregard this... Never worked with posts and it is irrelevant to your question!

    Don't you have a "Sticky" button for your post?
    On the right > Visibility - click Edit! > see the dropdown: "stick this post... etc."

    Istvan is exactly correct! Don't know why they hide this feature but easy to use once you find it.

    It's up top on the right by the "publish" button.

      It's called sticky post.
      There is no "static post". Can you show me where in the WP documentation did you read about it?

      There is only static frontpage (using a Page) but that's NOT what the OP asked about. Reading the OP is always helpful to avoid writing silly replies
