It's Time To Tweak... Need Some Opinions

OK, it's the last day of the month, my first month of this campaign. I am an artist who recorded and released a country gospel CD. I have an account with Aweber, Media Traffic, and learned (learning) HTML to design my website. I checked the stats for my squeeze page for the month, and it shows 27,476 times viewed, with 23,335 unique visitors. I'm new, but that seems like a great amount of views to me. The problem is I've only had 30 people join my list. I'm giving away a free mp3 of a song off the CD for signing up. My page is 750 by 400, as a pop up, at Media Traffic. Now, I have about 63 url's, all country, gospel, christian related, in my Media Traffic campaign. I'm going to change up the page. My thought was to include an audio message from me that folks could click on. I thought I'd try that for a couple weeks, then maybe insert a video message and see how that changes the results. One more thing, all profits are going to charity, and I make that clear in the follow up message from Aweber.

I'm just asking you more experienced folks to take a look and give me your opinion. I know that country gospel is a relatively small niche, but again, that's a lot of visitors, isn't it? Thanks for any help. Ron

    Your offer page looks more like you just want to get their emails and sell them your products later. Which is what you probably want to do in fact. But it's very revealing. It just won't do. I mean if I was a visitor to the site, I'd probably NOT sign up.

    For one, it's poorly designed; there are only very few texts - as if the page was done in 10 minutes. The offer page is one of the most important pages of your website. Hire a pro if you can afford one. Try to write a better offer letter. A bullet list of 5 points, one of which says 'your information is kept confidential' just won't do.

    When it comes to music and movies, a great deal has to be placed on looks and appearance. If your site sucks, your music probably does too. If the cover of your CD sucks, your music probably does too. I'm not saying your music does suck. I'm talking about the idea people generally have of things after a first impression.

    I once re-designed, as a favor to a friend, the site for an US-based ministry that helps out orphans in India, Philippines and Africa. The ministry is a relatively small one. And their previous site sucked! A plain HTML site with misplaced buttons here and there. I custom-coded up a Wordpress theme for them and since the new redesign, they've had more partner ministries contacting them, more donation and volunteers. I'm not saying it's all because of the redesign, but a great deal of it surely is.

    You might want to use Wordpress if you're updating your site. Simple HTML pages are a thing of the past. Besides, there are a ton of Wordpress themes and plugins, free as well as premium, that you could use.

Just one more question..... is that a nice number of unique visitors for the first month? If I have the traffic part covered, then I can move on and work on the other things you suggested.         Oh yeah I forgot to mention. That's a very very nice traffic!! 23k uniques your first month is superfantastic. You obviously got the traffic part covered. I wonder how you ever get that kind of traffic, seriously! Anyway, all you have to do now is to find a way to convert that traffic.

        If you ever get around to using Wordpress in future, there's a premium plugin that I bet will increase your conversion rate like crazy. It's called Pop-up Domination, created by one Michael Dunlop who's also a member here in WF.

        This plugin is widely popular among bloggers and like I said, if you ever get to use Wordpress, it's a must have. Once you've learned HTML, it will do you good to learn how to use Wordpress (which btw is easy). Again, just my opinion.

    it into a template with some graphics.
