Amazon affiliates - send the customer straight away or keep on the site??

What should you do to get higher potential sales.

(i) Do you direct the customer to the amazon site straight away, (even without them knowing) so they land on the site of trust and hope they buy straight away

(ii) Or do you give a lot of featured information and link with say a 'buy' button which when clicked links to Amazon?

The reason I ask is for two main scenarios:-

Customer A - Is interested in Xbox games and browses your site, however when seeing a 'buy' button doesnt really want to commit, comes out of your site, then starts browsing Walmart and Amazon theirselves, so you miss out on the sale because people trust your site less, hence situation (i) above would be more suited.

Customer B - Is looking for Xbox games but only intends to buy after payday in say 10 days time, they click on your site and are directed quickly to relevant pages on Amazon, and the price is good, the trust is good........ However this customer doesnt want to buy there and then, so waits 10 days, then instead of coming to your site, goes back to Amazon directly to make the sale.

I am sure of more scenarios, but which is more likely?

I've heard time and time again of people saying to get people into Amazon as quickly as possible as the trust is very high and also even with the example of customer 'B' above, surely if you have a 'shop around' customer like that, even if you have lots of information on your site (Assume these are e-commerce products with a lot of competition in Google and no one product the same - as this is my scenario) then the customer would still perhaps not only look at your site, but other sites too, then some of the other sites could well be Amazon and Bestbuy and Walmart etc again, and once more you lose out on the customer to going to one of these sites directly.

Thanks for your time.

Would love to hear from anyone with an opinion, and especially people who have changed tactics or use one of the scenarios I have outlined above.

Thanks

    I do both.

I have a link at the very top of every post for those who'd like to click directly through, then I have a link in the middle of my review, and another link at the bottom of my review.

Catch people at all stages of their buying decision.

P.S. I don't favor a "Buy" button... just a text link saying "Check the current price now!" or similar.

I find that a combination of readmore, more info or full spec buttons throughout your script with a buy now button at the top and bottom of script works well for me. Just nudge them through the amazon door and let them do what they are best at.
