Please Tell Me What You Think Of Coaches/Coaching.

I'm seriously thinking about trying to find a coach. A good one.

I have so many ideas, and so much information floating around in my head, I'm just not sure how to piece it together. I need help formulating a plan.

I'm not asking for people to bombard me with offers, as a matter of fact, if you need business you probably aren't what I think I need.

I'd just like to know what those of you that have invested in coaching what you think of it. Has it been worth it? Did it take you to another level? Any recommendations?

I personally do not find much value in a coach. However, I am my own self-starter. So all I need is an ebook (the instruction guide) and I'll go off and figure out stuff on my own. It's how I learn I guess.

Coaching has always seemed to pricey to me. I know all of this information exists somewhere either for free or cheaper, you just need to be resourceful in discovering it.

Implementation is about having the discipline to actually do something. Focus is key. I really don't feel we need coaches teach us this, but just need to practice ourselves.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

Bingo. And I need a good one. Bad.

This is where coaches are so helpful. Like you I can catch on pretty quick, and I'm pretty good at researching on my own....but coaches eliminate a lot of the noise and get down to it.

And being accountable to someone else helps me, personally.

There is nothing more valuable then a good coach. Footballers have one all their careers even though they can kick a ball pretty well already. Boxers have one in their corner shouting at them when they are in the ring doing what they are good at.

Yet business people seem to think they can do it all alone. That is until you get to the top of a good business and then they insist on giving you a coach too. I know i've been at the top of some VERY LARGE corporations. If they could afford the time they would lose they would give a coach to every member of staff they have. Most can not so only the very best get a coach.

There is a reason the best get coaches... even though they are the best...

Personally, I think a coach is invaluable for IM. If you have someone showing you one on one how to make money that is great. A lot of coaches though and ebooks are guilty of not giving away the whole secret. So when you work with a coach, they will tell you things that they wouldn't ordinarily write to the masses. This is especially important with little tweaks. Most people can get about 75-80% with the courses, but you really need that last 20% to put you over the top.

I have no doubt I can do it alone. I also have no doubt that it will take much longer to sort out what works and what doesn't.

I have some fairly strong talents. I do not have an natural ability to know which one of those might be the most profitable for me.

I am exceedingly curious. This makes it very difficult for me to stay focused. Accountability is a good thing, in my mind.

I know for a fact that some people have wasted every cent they have spent on coaching/lessons, etc... I also know that a few others have had an enormous return on their investment.

I never knew that I could say "I" so much in two posts.

Me would appreciate any referrals you might have by PM.

I have a coach and also an accountability partner that I turn to
    regularly for guidance.

Not only do I use them for new ideas but also to help me to
    focus in the right direction.

Consider why the greatest in an practically all fields have coaches,
mentors, agents, handlers, etc. These are people who often have
a better feel for the highest/best use of their time than they do.

I've served as an executive for senior military offices. They DIDN'T
run their schedules because they were too close to it to see the best
use of their own time and talent. I ran my bosses schedules, and if
they pissed me off, I scheduled appointments with VIPs in two
different locations so that they would be forced to be late :-)

Yes, I've found having a coach invaluable.

I believe a good coach will actually take you to the next level in this business. Sometimes we need someone there to watch over us and push us that extra mile. Plus it serves well to have someone to bounce off ideas. However there are so many coaches who are in it for the wrong reason. They know a little and just see an easy buck. I feel those are the ones who could really break you.

It just may help! I have coached people before, one is a great friend and he is doing unbelievable. He is actually doing better than me, by a LOT. Which I could have taken a percentage LOL.

A coach can keep you grounded, it is definitely worth it. I have never done it and probably would have not made as many mistakes. Although, I never have lost money on any investment, or failed at anything I have done, I believe my earnings could have been higher faster with a coach. It isn't necessary, but I believe you could find it beneficial.

I have an "accountability" and mastermind group of my own, and I would recommend joining a tight knit group like that, where everyone could offer coaching, but it is a group!

It depends on you whether you need a coach or not. Some are born self starter, some people need motivation and guidance. Neither is a bad thing, its just identifying what you need and move forward on it.

    I've worked with coaches before.
If you have a business, then you are in need of one. Even if they seem less reliable and people tend to not confide in them, coaches have quite a few jobs:

    1. They have to teach/coach you, as an employee.
    2. They have to reach out to the Departments in the company and make sure Department Managers work professional and treat equality the others employees in the Department.
    3. Let's not forget the ROI: the CEO expects a good Return of Investment [meaning ROI] from his employees. Now coaching and trying to make the CEO realize that not everything is about ROI, but everything is about ROE - return of expertize - this is a hard, difficult thing to achieve.

Coachers don't have an easy job, trust me...

A lot can depend on what type of coach you need...

There are several folks that offer coaching programs here - I would list some but I'm afraid I'll accidentally forget some good ones and I don't want to exclude anyone.

The WSO forum has coaching programs in it - I know for a fact there's at least one running right now.

Check feedback, find out exactly what's included and if it fits with your needs.

In other words, if you're looking for a coach on adsense, don't sign up for a coaching program that is about product creation. ;-)

Even if you don't have a coach, having a group of like-minded people you can run things by is priceless. (many call that a "mastermind" group, including some posters above).

You don't necessarily have to have a formal group - just make some connections with people and skype it up with them - share ideas and feedback. Just like talking to a friend.

Whatever you do, if you choose to hire a coach, be open and up front about what you're after - if you don't share your desires and don't put forth the effort to do what the coach tells you, then you'll waste your time and money.

    All success,

    Gary

WSO is a great place to start. For a little sum you can test the waters out. It doesn't necessarily have to say "I'm looking for coaching students" but something you're interested in.

For example, let's say I'm into SEO and wanted to know how to do this and who the big players in this game. Yesterday charles kirkland dropped his WSO and before I could get in, he sold 100 spots. Its still going for $17, but I can tell you his funnel will eventually run into a coaching program. Most gurus have this set up.

I like classes though so if there is a class like 5 day class with so and so, this might be better as you get to be with a bunch of students at first. So you'll get the camaraderie.

PM me if you know of a good class coming up. I'll take it with you! hahahaha

I have had coaches and mentors who have helped me tremendously blocking all the noise out and focusing on whatever direction I was moving and that is what it somes down to. I have since then coached several people successfully online and have recently started training people offline too. The info is there, free or not. Everything you need to start profiting and building an online business is right here in this very forum, the war room alone has a mass of information valuable more than any product available online. Where the coach comes in, is helping you focus, push when needed and enhance your mindset with accountability and mentoring. The best coaches may not teach you anything but they help bring out the best in you. So find out what topics you are interested in, where you are challenged than seek out a coach in that particular direction. Someone who may have made millions may suck at coaching so forget the screenshots and how much money they have made in a day but focus on results oriented social proof. All the best, Maddi Murtaza

Ok, in my honest opinion, a coach can only do you so good-- YOU MUST MASTER YOURSELF... FOCUS young grasshopper.

IF you were starting tennis and you had Roger Federer's coach, do you think it would work well? First of all, I don't think you have the money to throw at the guy's feet. I know I don't. I'd Save it to buy a good tennis racket.

Now take IM. If I spend $500 dollars for private teaching, yeah it will set me back, and I will be motivated-- but what if I don't know what questions to ask? What if the coaching is limited-- I doubt cheap WSOs will have good coaches. You can try and then let me know, of course...

I am still working on myself. To that end, I was going to share something about time management that I use to focus like a laser ___)>. I'll make it into a WSO soon, as I think as it is something IMers just don't have! If you are interested in a review copy PM me.

T LOOKS LIKE THIS___)> FOCUS. I am my own best coach when I master my own time.

It's all about knowing you are always at the RIGHT time in the RIGHT place.

First off...your best bet is to NOT go to someone who is advertising their self as a coach!!

These guys generally could care less about your success they just want your money, and then they want to keep selling you stuff.

Your best bet (if you are determined to get a coach instead of taking the above advice) is to find someone who is successful and then beg, plead and offer your firstborn to them.

They will likely tell you to pound sand because they are making more money doing their business than they could be helping you.

So...beg them some more...if they are local offer to buy them lunch once a month for an hour in exchange for them answering your questions and such.

I've had 2 coaches and to be honest, both were about clueless. They really didn't know much more than me and really had no idea how to coach.

I'm still looking for one, and I know exactly who I want, but he's quite expensive so I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I really think a good coach will help me get to that next level, but I'm a little conflicted based on my past experience.

Just to chime in since I joined a while back but haven't posted anything, in my experience, a coach is only worth the effort that you as a student will put in.

I got started doing the Challenge (not an affiliate in any way), but failed epically the first two times I tried to get going. I would start with one of the free programs out there to get a guideline, then decide after that if you need coaching to take you over the top.

A good starting point is to take a look at the customer feedback of anything that you want to invest in, whether it is coaching, a membership site, or an e-book. You really cannot go wrong if you find all (or almost all) positive reviews.

You know, it depends. If you're lucky enough to find a good coach who can help you hone your talents, and who works in a field you're related to, it can go great. You can also end up wasting valuable time searching or with people who won't work out.

I'd say look to the people you respect in your specific field and try to build mutually beneficial relationships. You'll inevitably learn.

I've never had a single individual as a coach, but rather I've used Warrior Forum to guide me along. I started out reading the All-in-One threads and then writing down some ideas on paper. I created my first product about how to make money online. It made a few sales, but more importantly, it helped me to focus on what to do.

I dont think i would know were i would be if it wasn't for my coach, Coaches or Mentors are a MUST HAVE in any business. Sure you can read a book (a good book) telling you the steps you need to take to make it, but thats like a boxer going into a ring pursuing title weight match in hopes of wining and all the training he has is a 30 page ebook on how to win a boxing match. yeah thats not really going to help at all.

I say, do your research, and GET A COACH, NOW!!!

and if your interested, go ahead and PM me or go to my site and check out my coaching programs. Contact me if you need results coaching.
