clickbank jv offers-How would you actually know if you're the/one of the top seller(s)?

So I'm looking at the affiliates pages for some of these top cb products. They seem to be offering cash prizes $1000, $500 ect to people who sell the most or give the most clicks/sales/ to them daily.

So my question is, how would you know if you actually won or should have one of these? Only the vendor can actually see which affiliates are performing the best right? He could choose to A.Pay only some people, or B.Not pay anyone right?

    Trust does play a part in it.

    You may be told how many units winners sold
    though not always.

    So, if you don't trust a product owners why do
    business with them in the first place.

    I don't know of a fool-proof way to avoid being
    cheated though... with Clickbank or any other
    platform.
