advice wanted on secure hosting, sub domains, domain names and more

Hi this my first post but for the past month ive been heavily researching Affilate marketing, while i know its aslow and difficult process for a newb like me to actually make any money i at this stage see my projects of personal experimentation.

So far ive put my 10 year old computer college course expertise to the test and began searching for free domains and hosting sites. i wanted to get a feel of making my own website. website design these days is pretty much intrgrel with affilate marketing. Freewebs.com for example have apps specially design for you to sign up to affilate programs. of course theirs limits with such free things. i cant add meta tags, i cant upload html so pretty much screws over any sort of site map or google ranking but it not what it was about. making the test website opened my eyes to click bank amazon and many others.

so where am i now.

the website been up not so long no vistors and no member but its ofcourse due to the no meta tags or uploading custom html. i already knew this when begining this research but i continued anyway because of the sudden learning curve.

so to continue im currently looking at hosting and domain names. my buget is around 30 british pounds per year.

go daddy looks good but im actually becoming partly to freewebs.com obvious premium upgrade to hosting. its just more expansive but has extra features like easy to use web designers etc that ive become accustom to.

do any of you hardcore warriors have advice on who to use. currently .

Sub domains. when i get my domain i dont plan on it being just one website but having numerous sub domains . so to extend advertising and have multiple content.i dont plan on it just being advertising but plan on getting a core community . with other streams of revenue.

whats your experiance with sub domains. how does search engines respond to them etc. are sub domains difficult to actually implement once you own a full premium domain.

off my own back. once ive got my site and domain my first port of call will be to go war room member here. but first im developing content . so my next step is to actually get a domain and set it it in motion i know.

in the mean time im collecting click bank, amazon and various other forms of ads and products to use within the community site. i can do this on my own but i just want that little push in the right direction

so to summerize

what domain provider hosting site do you personally favour
do you believe sub domains are simple and easy to use. etc

security of hosting domains and affiliates

multiple domains? are they worth the bundles. (.info sites are looking extremly cheap to purchase. are they oversaturated in the market, does google rank them more harshly)

disclaimer. i understand its a hard and ardous but im willing to put in the effort. my core goals are to attain £200 per week with and around amulti domain system /community. i understand that this can take in excess of years to do but as a semi part time- full time hobby im ambitious that it will pay off.

(i know theres more to marketing than what i just mentioned above, backlinking, word press, forum attention all boost traffic i know but at this stage i'm nowhere near implementing those aspects of my experiment. At the moment i plan on getting my domain name this monday to move things in motion)

Thanks for reading and your help in advance

When it comes to business forget the free stuff. You are in business to make money thus you need to spend money and a few dollars in registering a domain name, hosting, scripts, etc. is more likely to pay for itself in the long run. Trust me you'll be happy owning your own domain name. Having your own domain name gives you authority and brands your business for whatever it is.

You don't need multiple domain names to make an impact or even make money. One domain name is all you need to make an impact. Forget the cheap stuff like info, go for the top three, .com, .net or .org They have more authority over the rest unless you're in other countries then your country tld is used such as co.uk for United Kingdom or .mx for Mexico.

For hosting I favor Hostgator, IX hosting, etc.

Ok thats that for now ...

It sounds like you are getting ready to get ready to get ready ....to do something.

Buy a domain - under $10 for one year registration

Get decent hosting - about $7/month for Hostgator and may be coupons available to get it cheaper

Don't worry about subdomains until you have a site up and running - you can learn more about those in threads here at any time

Don't worry about mutliple sites or what you will be doing a year from now - get started first.

Planning is good - but until you get your site property built and hosted online you can't do anything further except "get ready". It doesn't have to be perfect - the worst site online has more earning potential than any site not yet uploaded.

We're talking $17 or less first month and less than $10 per month after that. If you can't invest that much in starting a business, there's something wrong.

Kay has got you covered. The only thing I might suggest is that you get Hostgator's baby croc package. Less than 10 bucks a month. This will allow you to add a bunch of subdomains at no extra charge.

Kay is right about starting with one. Get it up and running before you move on.

find some cheap and reliable service avoid free buggy offers.

I use name.com for my domains, pretty good domain registrar, you can go with .info or .com no issue at all.

For affordable web hosting, try looking into a good wso here.

Avoid purchasing domain and hosting from same company, don't put all your eggs in single basket.

    good luck )

Since you are looking for a domain to practice on I suggest buying the cheapest one and experiment with it. See where it goes and then invest in something you'd really like to have.

I also recommend that you have a bit money to invest if you are serious about this. You can get 1 free month at many hosting services, to test them out. Also there are 0.99$ .com offers every month. You can pick one up (but make sure you cancel the website tonight subscription it creates) ... and that't it... you spend $1 on your first month. IF you work your ass off then you will make some money and pay for the hosting each month (to start with) ... then it can only go up.

However, if money is your problem, you can always offer services that you can do at people that require and build the backbone to your future investments and projects.
