Doing this one right! Need some opinions

Hello

I have a really great quality seven day course in the fitness/health/lifestyle niche. Actually it is probably good enough to sell for $47-$67. But what I have decided to do, since I am really trying to build a brand and a name for myself, is give it away as a free seven day course. But I wont just give it away to any one.

What i'll do is contact a list of blogs / List owners in my niche. Offer to give them a free good quality video, that requires no opt in, for their list. This way they can build trust with their list and make it more responsive.

But I will have an opt in box under the video so if the people want to continue the seven day course, they will have to opt in.

This is basically the jest of it. Please tell me if anything came to mind on how to improve upon this.

Thanks

This is actually a good idea. Many internet marketers have resorted to this system. I've seen people like John Chow promoting such free products. His is in the make money online niche of course and instead of an opt-in list at the end of the video, it usually is a payment option to get the full course/product. Good luck!

Well thats what I plan to do, but at the end of the course. This way if they dont buy right away I will have their email for the long run

This is a form of video syndication which is based on a form of
    article syndication.

I agree that it's a good approach. But in a niche like that, which is
pretty large, I would recommend articles. Here's why...

You want to brand your name and your business. I think very well
researched and written articles will have a greater impact than videos.

People will be able to get a larger glimpse into who you are as well as
what you know through articles rather than videos. That's the way it
    seems to me.

I also recommend articles because you will be contacting relevant site
    owners, anyway.

If you were a martial arts instructor, selling a course, then perhaps a
video may have a greater impact than an article. You could achieve that
if the video had you in it and maybe some place where you hold lessons.

If you consider doing this with articles, then I would make them much longer
than the norm as suggested by a few around here. Plus, I've had success,
in the past, with longer articles and syndication even though this is not
    something I do.

I would also advertise in relevant ezines, those in your niche, or even submit
articles to them. Contact the ezine owner and inquire about submitting content.
That would be a great way to build awareness of your brand.

      Hey ken,

Thanks for the feedback. I agree with your take on articles for a lot of niches. Of course I will still have articles, but Im moving towards video. Heres why, people trying to get in shape want to see someone talking to them. Thats one of the main reasons they get personal trainers. I have seen so many terrible personal trainers but they stay in business because people really just want someone to walk them through it without having to read.

And I will definetely look into ezines. Dont know why I didnt think about this before.

      Thanks so much,

      Travis
