Web directories

Is there an expert here who could give us a clear answer on web directories.. In theory you coule submit to over 1000+ directories in 1-2 days but those links would come in slowly as some submit your site in 1-2 days..others in 2-3 weeks and others in 4-6 months... So in theory this would look natural and also no problem with google slap...

Or is this way a bad way of submiting your site to web dirs?

    Don't worry Google will not "slap" you for this.

    If it was so easy, everyone would be doing this do their competitors

    No i think google will not slap because all 1000 directories will not approved your site in same day.

    You will definitely get the benefit of it. Like few of the directories will approve in just one week and few of take some time. So Google will get backlinks for your site regularly whenever your site approve in any directory.
