...offer as a freebie to encourage people to opt in to a mailing list for printer ink discount coupons?

Put differently, what freebie would you consider to be a good enough reason to opt into such a list?

I'm at a total loss, so any help from my fellow warriors would be really appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

A report that gives reviews of printers? How about the best place for cheap office supplies?

This is a tough topic. Maybe someone else has better ideas than me

Coupons is a good idea. People love saving money, especially if it's something they buy often.

The only reason we get the brand of diapers we do is because we have so many 4 euro coupons laying around for that brand.

Will it be "enough" will be more determined by how you market it. Pop up, slide up, exit pop up.... those all work to increase your opt in rate.

Saving money on a regular purchase (with coupons) is definitely something of value.. you just gotta let people know about your offer.

      Thanks for the suggestions.

@ Charlotte, I was thinking along similar lines to you, but instead of cheap office supplies, one on how to save on the amount of ink used when printing something.

@ edv, I love the idea about the Word templates and will give that a go. I wish I was as creative as some of you guys.

@ Victor, Yeah, coupons are definitely a good argument for opting in on their own. Problem is, is that they're all over the Web anyway, so I don't think coupons on their own are enough. Regarding the method of marketing them, I've got a large banner in the header, plus a page on its own, to which I was running a PPC campaign, unfortunately with no joy.

@ Edwards World, I'm not sure if that would work in this case. People looking for printer ink would probably wonder why I'm offering them ways to make money.

Thanks again guys, and if anyone else has anything to chip in, please do

      Steve
