Do You Use The Facebook Like Button Plugin?

I was wondering who here uses the facebook like plugin.

Also was wondering do you need to have a facebook fan page for your website for the facebook like button plugin to mean anything?

And what is the best spot for the like button? top, top left, right, bottom etc...
#button #facebook #plugin
  • I use _a_ Facebook like plugin (there are many of them available) on my main blog, and other Facebook like tools on other sites.

Just like I use plugins to allow people to Tweet about my sites.

Those social media promotional angles are vital now in the modern marketing world.

Yes I use the Facebook like button, the like box and the Tweet button on my blog (in my signature). The top right side works best for me.

And yes, you do need a facebook fan page to make it work. I recently installed this on my blog and I already have 25 fans. It is a form of social proof and it helps credibility.

I use it on 3 sites. I just started. I presently have it at the top of the post (under the title) and at the end of the post.

It's too soon to tell whether it will deliver results. I too built Facebook Pages for all 3 sites on which the Facebook Like button is placed.

There are a number of plugins that do it. Some are designed to let people like your FB page and others are designed to post something on the person's wall saying they like a particular post. It's pretty confusing really. I use the one for the FB page mostly because I have over 1,000 likes and that (I hope) looks impressive to people visiting my site. I decided to drop the one for individual posts because I wasn't getting any new likes and I thought it looked a little lame...

    I use them all.

Although I already have a technique that gets me 1000's of likes to my facebook page for social proof, displaying the Like Box in my blog has helped me received highly targeted quality fans.

So far as the like button is concerned, displaying on the top right has seem to work for me. I display it both on the homepage and single post/page.

    Cheers,
    Jou

No, I like the share plug-ins. The like button makes the site slow.

I use the Like button at the bottom directly after the last line of the post. I find it to be pretty useful because it can still raise awareness even if you don't have a fan page.

Social Network buttons are good if you intend to promote yourself that way, otherwise there's no use. But I guess it can't hurt having them on your site/blog.

You don't need a fanpage for this by the way. The likes are your website not the page.

Sportsfan, not only do I use the Like Button, I make a living from it. The Like Button, or better yet the advent of "Natural Like Marketing" is the future of sharing and selling goods on the internet.
