Fastest Time to First Page of Google

Hi Everybody!

What is the fastest you've ever gotten to the first page of Google. If I do everything right, how long can it take? I'm asking because I have a time sensitive niche that I want to try to monetize and I'm not sure if its even possible. I was thinking of doing a Wordpress blog and using the All in One SEO plugin.

All responses are sincerely appreciated.

Hi Ann, I think it depends on what keyword(s) you are targeting. I have had success getting on the first page of Google in a day when targeting less competitive keywords.

my site bayaw.com in google first page in less than 1 hour for the keyword chrome bug with 6M competition

You can rank to first page of google in less than one hour depend on how strong your site is.

      LOL! 10/10 for the answer!

As some of the other contributors have pointed out, it's all about the competition on the keywords and how well your competitors have optimised their websites for the keywords you want. It took me 1 1/2 weeks to get to position 5 for a keyword, competing against over 1 million pages that were badly optimised.

It will depend a lot on the competition. The real test is how long you stay on the front page of google.

Having said this it is only a small part of the overall marketing process and when I just looked at one of my sites statistics I only get about 5% of my traffic from being on the front page for a certain product and the conversions are not so great.

I have an article on builder.com which converts much higher and brings in a lot more traffic.

For this reason I spend only about 5% of my time on google optimization and a higher percentage getting on more authoritative sites.

I have a client who spend nearly all of his budget on getting to number one position and when I took over the account we employed some different strategies which increased his sales over 500%.

Be careful not to get overly obsessed by first page positioning as there are a lot more worthwhile strategies that will help your business.

As others have said your competition is what you need to look at. You could always break a keyword down and go with a long tail, and hope to eventually rank for a shorter keyword.

Take a close look at your competition's optimization, page rank, and links.

An hour and fifteen minutes, when I was actually looking to see. I could have gotten there faster during times when I wasn't checking.

It definitely depends on what your keywords are. There are too many factors to really judge how fast is fast.

Comes down to keywords. For a new domain and an easy keyword a few hours is possible.

With experience you should be able to do 2 weeks not a problem. I have had sites ranking first page for a clients desired keyterms within a day or so. It depends on where your links are coming from and how Google is feeling that day. You will be fine with 2 weeks!
