Mailchimp is a great website to get opt-in forms + they are FREE

Poor guy... Does he have an AR account? If yes, ask him to give you the optin form code.

If he doesn't... how will he use the "optin form" and, more importantly, for what?

If you need just a place-holder - learn some basic HTML:

I know it's not free, but based on experience I'd suggest that you ask your client to sign up for Aweber. The reason for that is if he builds a large list he'll want to get his emails through the spam filters in order to run effective campaigns and for me Aweber has been the most effective AR as far as deliverability rates are concerned. Just my 0.02 worth.

Ask the guy if he has an autoresponder account. If he wishes to build a list I reckon he would have signed up for one. Otherwise, people in that list will become your leads. Haha.

Jokes aside, if he doesn't have an autoresponder account and doesn't wish to sign up for any paid AR services, sign him up for Mailchimp, Listwire, Autosenders, etc. Type in "free autoresponders" and search around the WF and you will find many discussions on free AR and their benefits and disadvantages.

    Cheers,

Am I understanding you right, you have a job, with a paycheck? And you are against spending $19 a month for the tools for that job? Huh?

But then it is your employer that needs the AR account I would think. You can't build lists without the right tools, and the most recommended AR is Aweber. Don't you deserve the best tools for the job?

Don't ruin a good thing because you are too cheap. Spring the $19 and do it right, or get your boss to spring the money.
