Are You Getting Ready to SELL on EBAY? Now is the time

This was mentioned before, that EBAY will be offering FREE listings.

EBay expands free listings to boost marketplace unit | Reuters

We are quickly approaching that time, and after having moved myself a bazillion times in the past couple of years (lol) I am gearing up to haul some things out.

If you are needing to find some seed money for your business and want to start free, this is your grand opportunity.

I'd like to refresh some peoples minds to this thread here:

http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...l-rolling.html

If you start looking now, you'll have 2 weeks to research your items, take photos, create listings, and just list when the time is right.

I'll be listing a 35mm camera (yes, these still sell), some old TV's, lots of old computer stuff, etc - because if it doesn't sell, it appears there will be no risk (although I do need to go investigate the fine print myself still).

If you don't have anything to list, consider offering this service to your neighbors and family now. You can arrange to take a cut on the final selling price. I did this myself a few years back. Once you get a system in place it is simple "busy work" that can get done quickly.

It will probably take me 2 weeks to find and arrange to sell 50 items, but planning to max this thing out. Less stuff to move when I gotta move again in 4 months, ya know?

So I can list hundreds of items and they'll only charge me if they're purchased..

    Is that right?

I read 50 per month can be listed, but like I said I need to still investigate the fine print.

I think I heard the fees on the back end will be making up for what is lost up front. Still, if you can list up front at no charge this can take away fear of losing money from the listing fees should the item just not sell for some silly reason.

    I'm sure it's still a rip-off. Ebay's ship has sailed. It's not 2005 anymore.

In my view, Ebay jumped the shark when the default auction view no longer displayed items starting with the ones ending soonest.

Ebay is still married to paypal, which makes ebay unattractive. Although other money options are available, ebay buyers are most comfortable with paypal and I have no doubt that people will start selling in bulk and paypal will hold all their money for "suspicious behavior" or some nonsense like that.

I used to sell on eBay many years ago. Best way to get started online I think. Anyway one of the reasons I stopped all those years ago was because I had a huge selection of stock.. and had to have them all listed as Buy It Now's... this change might mean I can get everything running again (well, my brother can! I'm traveling the world!)!

Ebay is definitely going down hill these days. It is great if you are starting out just to learn the basics of internet marketing, but it has become so saturated that everyone and their dog is trying to profit from it.

How much do they charge if someone purchases your item?

Great timing. It's been more than a year since I sold anything on eBay. Now I've decided to sell my entire CD collection. Better get to it.

The last sale I had on ebay was when I sold all the Stompernet CD's from their original launch. Andy/Brad tried blocking all sales of the DVDs on eBay by saying they violated copyright, even though they were original copies. I waited until between Christmas and New Years when I knew the office was closed to list all of them. I divided up the sets, dvd's from the seminars, and then sold them in separate auctions and netted a total of $3K.

Of course, about 6 months later they stopped policing ebay alltogether and gave away all their stuff. Now you can probably get those for about $100.

The major problem with eBay is their final valuation fees, not the listing fees, the listing fees are peanuts.

EDIT: The ludicrous PayPal fees are a nightmare too.
