Please Step Away From The Haterade...

I'm usually fairly mild mannered, keep to myself, and really don't care what other people do one way or the other.

However, it's come to my attention that the world of internet marketers appears to be full of what are known as "haters"

So, what exactly is a hater?

A hater is a pathetic piece of trash that can't stand to see someone else do well...someone that would rather talk trash about other people rather than focus on their own business...basically, someone that just flat out annoys me.

Recently - Well, actually about 20 minutes ago, I was sent a transcript of a Skype conversation that one of my friends had with another party. For whatever reason, the other person was bashing me and the way I price my products etc...

But, you know what really pisses me off? They have basically tried to sabotage me a couple of times by their own admission by rating my threads with one star and even asking others to make posts to a couple of my threads trying to somehow prove my information wrong.

Normally, I would be flattered. Hell, you know your doing something half way right if people are trying to find a way to knock you down so that they can get to where you are or where your going, right? The problem is that the person in question is someone that I considered to be a "friend" in at least a small way. We chatted on skype, exchanged PM's, bounced ideas off of each other etc...

I guess it just goes to prove the smile in your face and stab you in the back saying, huh?

Now this isn't just a rant here...

There are a couple of lessons to be learned here.

1. Don't trust people too easily
2. Watch your ass
3. Mind your own business

It's whatever really...I will be contacting this person directly to essentially let the know what I think which will no doubt contain language that is not meant for a forum setting.

However, for any of you that are actually working your business the right way, beware of the dreaded haters...they will come for you one day

It seems success can bring out a lot of resistance in people. It makes them feel like losers so they have to react angrily and in a petty way.

Some people are so focused on what is wrong they miss the what is right part.

Always looking for the hole in the donut. They find it too. This means they can say they were right.

Here is this unusual thing. If they spent the same hours doing something positive they could have a positive result and they would not have to hate themselves anymore.

I know this must be frustrating to you, but remember what goes around, comes around and as long as you go forward, and they keep doing the wrong thing, good will only come your way.

Don't let your attitude or ambition be brought down by the negative vibes of another, in so doing, you would be giving away your own positive energy.

I am sorry such a negative thing happened to such a nice person as you.

Hi Jeremy,
Here's a really bad story to add to what you say. My mate runs a successful paid membership site for about 10 years now. Unfortunately he's had major issues with some guys he banned for being abusive. He refunded them and they set up their own competing site. However they reported him for illegally claiming welfare, not paying taxes, running an illegal business to trading standards and most worrying reported to the police he was going to kidnap his own kids (he's long seperated from his kids mother). This lead to police turning up at his 6 year old son's school as they couldn't contact him! None of which was true but he had to spend time with each entity to prove otherwise.
So yes you get a few nutters.

Kind of interesting definitions there as well.

Especially #3:

A beverage comsumed by haters to refuel their hating campabilities.

Thanks for the OP, Jeremy. Before I read this thread, I couldn't understand the regular appearance of people who turned up just to criticise guys like Steven Wagenheim -- but the replies here have gone some way to explaining it.
