So I've just hired a VA...

Went to easyoutsource.com to find a va for a simple data entry task... took a while to find the right candidate... probably not the most experienced, but she was the only one who understood my instructions, and carried them out, well 90% of them.

Just going over the task with her there, and she was asking if I wanted someone full time... she only charges $250 a month... so I thought, why not... it took long enough to find her from this one job, even if I have to train her how to do some stuff... it's worth a punt, for a month.

I just think it's gas that I'm now a boss... I will be a good boss, stern but fair

Now I just need to figure out what tasks I need to give her.... She said she can write articles... how cool would it be if they're actually readable!

Actually, besides the obvious, article submissions and link building... what else can I get her to do?

If you have a VA, what do they do for you?

Cheers

Give you massage, do your hair, make food and clean your room. Isn't that obvious?

Naa, jk. Train her to do what you are doing now? Then just pay her the monthly fee from your revenue and keep the profit.

na, have to keep it strictly professional... I don't really like being called sir.

The cool thing is, we're in the same time zone, as I'm in China.

Pretty excited, to think I can hand off a load of time consuming tasks... I have her doing some data entry that would have taken me over 10 hours to complete.

      Wicked!

I don't normally hire a VA but hire per job.

Although I have gone down this road and you can use them for email support for general enquiries, jv requests, link building etc...

If you ARE going to use her for article writing get a 200 word preview first!

VA's not understanding your instructions? That certainly doesn't instill alot of confidence. Here's a list of reliable, experienced and competent VA's for future reference.

Yeah, have her perform those day to day tasks that just seem to eat your time up.

Forum posting, Twitter updates, Facebook updates, respsonding to emails, support issues, signing up for accounts.

Anything you can put into a step by step process could be done by her.

Then use your free time for new areas and to grow your business.

She was the best out of the bunch. There's so many on there, you could spend days finding and trying out different ones.

I'll know after a month if I'll keep her on.

I think it also depends how many hours a month your VA is willing to put into actual work. I mean, 10 hours a month is not worth $250...

You're abosolutly right, I guess I'll find out soon enough. She asked how many articles I'd expect in a day... I told her I'd expect around 4 - 6 well written researched articles, I'd be happy with that.

If she produces muck, well, I'll give her some other tasks... article submission etc... it might work out, it might not... hopefully it does... experience for me also.

That's your opinion, and you're entitled to it, of course. But just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so too is value. And depending on what projects they need to have completed, some small business owners might consider $250 a month a relative bargain.

Especially if it frees up their time so they can network, and potentially make thousands of dollars.
