Quick question for the Youtube Gurus

I have a client who has a question about how Youtube stats are measured.

If he has the video embedded in his site, how does that effect clicks, views and whatever other stats for the video?

Does it make a difference if it is auto played on his site? Does an autoplayed video count the same in stats as one the user clicks to play?

This part of it really isn't my thing. I'm more of a get the site made and embed the video in it guy.

Embedded videos count as views, but only if they click to start the video. Also, in your insight statistics they will not count as 'unique' visitors/views. When looking at your insight statistics you can see where your referrals are coming from as the 'discovery' link breaks it all down, so you'll be able to see just how many came from embedded views vs related videos vs direct search, etc. Furthermore you can download the spreadsheet and see even more information.

As far as autoplays go, several articles I've read say that autoplays DO NOT count toward your view count since the viewer did not initiate the video playing action.

If you have any other questions let me know.
