Did wordpress disable comment on off function?

Hi, I notice in wordpress, that the option to allow, or disallow comments on each page or post has disappeared. Why is that? I can't imagine what their thinking was there.

Thanks Glenn

I have been wondering the same thing, I was going to look for a plugin to solve this issue but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I'm noticing that on some of my pages (old and new ones I'm entering) that some of them allow comments and some of them don't, and I have the same settings on all of them. Anyone else having this issue?

I noticed that also. I can only seem to do it globally for the whole site, rather than on specific pages.

    Hello...

The option is still available, but in the new 3.1 version, by default the option is hidden. Just click the 'screen options' button at the very top right and click the 'discussions' option and it will reappear below.

This is designed to clean up your workspace. Previous versions of WP allowed you to hide the unused/unwanted items, but were visible by default.
