How hard is it to get Platinum on EZA?

I have 32 published articles, and am out of submissions until they review me for either platinum status, or preventing more submissions.

In general, how strict are they in this regard?

Forgive me, and not to sound rude, but what does it matter?

If you're currently pending consideration for Platinum status, either they'll grant you it or they won't. No-one here telling you "how strict they are", or what our experience was like, will help you. :p

Things have changed slightly at EZA lately, in terms of thier acceptance criteria, but I initially reached Platinum status immediately after having my tenth article approved ... and all I was submitting at that time was "off-topic (unrelated to the sites I was linking to), backlinks-only articles" of approximately 400-500 words. But my spelling was fine, my grammar was of an acceptable standard, and apparently they adhered to their editorial guidelines.

That doesn't help you at all, though. :p

    Answered here.

Also: it's easier than it was, anyway, now that "Basic Plus" members are re-assessed after 10 articles rather than (as before) after 25. You just have to submit 10 consecutive articles without any of them causing a problem. It honestly is as simple as that.

It would be interesting to hear some of their internal discussions these days. I can see two competing theories here:

    1. They are going to be more selective because G slapped them.
    2. Since G slapped them, they need all the articles they can get since more and more people aren't using them any more

Overall, I wouldn't be too concerned

They don' command the same level of authority as they did 5 years ago. Their system gets less helpful by the day.
If it's backlinks you are interested in, you can use them... But if it is quality traffic to your site, try guest posting instead. It's post of the in-thing now.
      Hope it helped.

I read on Mashable and TechCrunch and a few other "in the know" sources that show where EZA and Hubpages and a few other [previously] strong Authority sites too a major hit when the Google Panda Algo hit the street.

I agree with others who've noted , EZA doesn't carry the panache it used too AND the traffic generated has fallen off quite a bit, even with a strong article.

What gets my goat is that it takes me 4-5 days to get a 501 word article to make it thru their approval model. QA aside, its not what it used to be.

DING DING DING! You two are our grand prize winners -- EZA doesn't matter anymore!

If you'd asked this question about six weeks ago, I'd feel your pain. But just as Freddie Kruger lost his power to literally scare people to death once someone figured out that he just a dream, EZA has lost its elitist leverage over us in the face of the Google slap.

An EZA article linking to my landing page that I could always find on page one of Google is now in the middle of page two. And what is now in the #1 position on page one? My landing page!

I actually convinced myself that it wasn't asking too much of them to take a week to approve my articles unless either I paid them or wrote fifteen more articles in order to go platinum. Now I can dare to ask, "Since I'm not paying them and they're not paying me, why the heck am I knocking myself out?" I'm working with Street Articles and Go Articles now: approval in hours and a LOT less grief

And then there's the biggest irony of all -- EZA plasters their pages with more than THIRTY Google classified ads, and look at the thanks they got! :p

Thanks ... although that wasn't really the point I was making when I said "what does it matter?".

I was referring to the OP's account already being under consideration for upgrade to Platinum status, either way, and just wondered how sharing our experiences/opinions of how strict they are could possibly be of much help to him.

(OP: Congrats on achieving Platinum. )

I understand your frustrations with EZA, rocktivity, if you're using them in the way you've described (as an article directory marketer), and see that there may be other, better directories to use for this purpose from now on (if you're adamant about continuing to pursue this approach).

EzineArticles is just as relevant (more so, in fact) today for those who engage in syndication-model article marketing, however, since it is still the first (and sometimes only) directory that many webmasters/publishers visit to source free content for republication!

Is it really the first place? In the terms and conditions, I think it states that publishers may only use 25 articles per year. That isn't much for a someone who needs a lot of articles.

I had a look at street articles but it has pr0. Is it new and upcoming?

Your articles in EZA do too, Cheapie, just like mine ...

All articles in all article directories go on PR-0 pages. Look at it this way: an article in a directory is a new web page, isn't it, just like a new page on your own blog or on any other kind of website? All new pages on the web start off as PR-0.

Don't listen to all the nonsense people talk about "PR-4 directories" and "PR-5 directories" and so on. Those are people who don't quite understand that websites (including article directories!) don't "have page rank": only pages have page rank.

And the figures they're so habitually - and often inaccurately - bandying about are just the page ranks of those directories' home pages, which isn't where your articles go anyway.

This is why (thankfully!) article directory copies of articles are so easy to outrank with the copy of the article originally published and indexed on your own site prior to directory submission.

Well it doesn't to you but as mentioned you're only after backlinks, which defeats the purpose that article marketing was originally designed for. Good luck with the new directory you're using.

By the way, when you made the link to the last link in your signature, you forgot to put the . in between the www and the rest of the URL, hence the reason it's not going anywhere. You managed to put it in when you wrote your sig but not when you made the URL into a link.

        Hope that helps. :p

I wrote 10 good articles and got my platinum account. They were linking to a golf site and the articles were written about golf, so that's all I say: Write quality articles and I guess it helps if your articles follow ALL their rules from the start, meaning your articles don't get "returned" and are in need of fixing.

But if you're after lunkjuice, I strongly suggest you start posting on other directories as well. There are thousands and thousands of article directories out there, some of them posting your stuff on the fly, without even reading it through

Hope I could help in some way!

If your articles are well written with no grammer and spelling mistakes AND you do not have any articles in problem status (pending, rejected etc) then you should be approved. I had a client that had written his quota but had one article in rejected status, when he deleted that article he was approved the next day.

BTW I just got approved for Diamond level and it is taking about 4 hours to have my articles approved.

Hi I have had fun with Ezine wrote a lot of articles became Platinum and then my articles must have slipped so had some of the them in Problem.
So what I am saying if your articles are not consistent you can go backwards, but just keep on trying and they are accepted again. Sometimes a bit like a yo yo.

Personally, I think it's going to be harder to become a Platinum author than
ever before with EZA having to really crack down on what it accepts in the
      first place.

Sure, write some killer articles and you're in like Flint. But submit anything
that isn't up to their standards and not only won't you make Platinum, you
won't even get your articles accepted.

So while the review process has eased, as far as number of articles you have
to submit, the quality control (at least one would hope) is going to make it
      much harder.

I don't think it's too hard becoming platinum if you submit decent articles without spelling or grammar errors and don't suffer too many rejections (or any).

However, diamond is another matter. Apparently, you must have a profile photo for every pen name, which strikes me as odd. Either I use the same photo for all pen names or submit fake photos. Neither option appeals to me and so I sit at platinum. It's not a big deal because I can still submit articles, but it is an odd policy.
