Aweber allows you to send an email to yourlistname@aweber.com. Who Else does this?

You can add people to your auto responder by simply sending an email to yourlistname@aweber.com

Are there any other autoresponder services which allow this?

getresponse?
icontact?
mailchimp?

Thanks in advance

Are you asking if any of the services mentioned will host your web form per specific lists?

I'm asking if the other services allow an email to be sent to listname@aweber.com and this will automatically add the senders email address to the list. (or send double optin confirm as reply)

    ie listname@getresponse.com etc

    does this make sense?

It does make sense and i wish i could answer this question for you. Unless someone else provides you the knowledge here on the forum.

I would email each autorespnder service support asking this exact question. Just an idea should test their customer support as well .

Sorry i couldnt be of more help this time...

    Hi,

iContact used to allow it, so they probably still do.

One note though is that I used this method once when I was marketing a teleseminar and didn't feel like setting up a real squeeze page--can't remember why, I must have been in a big hurry. Anyway, the point is I had horrible confirmation rates.

Normally, nearly everyone confirms. When I went this route though, 51% did not confirm when I went this route.

I realized later that may be because they're not sent to a page afterward reminding them to look for the confirmation email. Whether people actually read those "remember to confirm" pages anymore is doubtful, but just seeing it probably triggers a reminder in their head to keep an eye out.

And too, most of the time when you send an email to an autoresponder, you immediately get an email back with some kind of information. (Though no one does this much anymore.) So it's just not habitual to look for a confirmation email when you sign up that way.

Anyway, I've never used it again after that. So if you do find your confirm rates are low, you may want to try the webform route.

(The link above just goes to a blog article talking about my experience with this in case you're interested.)
