Squeeze or no Squeeze?

Hi all,

I've been building content and parts of my online business here and there since 2005. I finally had a long talk with somebody who pointed out that I really and truly do have a product, pointed out some interesting methods of traffic generation, and so I'm FINALLY putting the pieces together.

This is in a niche other than IM.

Among other things, I will give away an audio-transcript-handout to a teleseminar I did several years ago, as lead gen. All items will have links back to the upsell. This is a fairly hot sub-niche in my area of interest, and one in which I'm actively involved.

Here's the question that's up for debate as I'm finishing up the pieces: Do I squeeze these people for the download, which is FREE - or do I rely on the links I have embedded in the product to bring them back?

Like I said, I've been in this game for several years, I DO understand the benefits of squeezing for a free download - I run a JV event in the main niche, and have added hundreds to my lists over the years via squeezes! I'm just wondering if it might be more viral if it's squeeze-less initially.

I DO plan on doing JVs with people in this particular sub-niche, so that is a big part of why I'm wondering.

No, I haven't even soft launched this, so I have no stats as to conversion either way.

TIA for your feedback.

I'd always get their details via a squeeze page particularly if you are offering them something of value for free in exchange.

think long term - and you should include a squeeze page , and attract the sign up with your free bonuses. Can't go wrong here...

IMHO, you should require them to supply at least their email address in exchange for your free, yet valuable information. You should use an email service like aweber or mailchimp to start a mailing list. When you have them in your email list, then you can set up a series of automated messages to offer more relevant information and remind them of the wonderful product that you happen to have Keep the links in the eBook though! Then they always have a link to your product (and so will other people if they decide to share it with their friends) even if they delete your emails or opt-out.

Definitely use a squeeze with aweber ...
I always remember a very good marketer saying if people won't give you their name and email address in exchange for really good content... They won't buy your stuff...
So it should help to disqualify some freebie seekers.... :-)

Like everyone else, use a squeeze page and build a list. It takes a constant communication with your list to make sales.
