What Steps can be Taken when Someone Does not Pay Commissions-Taking it to the Next Level-ETHICALLY

Alright guys,

I am dealing with an issue from a particular launch in which the Developer had a Paypal account that got frozen. I can understand this and it does happen when you get a huge influx of sales.

It seems as if attempts were being made to payout....with 1/4 of the commission being paid...along with a whole bunch of other promises.

Now...I try to log into my back office and I CANNOT....my account records do not match.
This is also a recurring gig...so the account more than likely is worth more...and now there
seems to be no record of it.

What is the next level of action?
What can be done online that is ETHICAL to correct this issue as well as warn others?

I have sent an email to these people....I am unsure if they are Warriors but if they are, perhaps this will send a message.

I had brought on JV Partners who are more than likely experiencing the same thing. I do not take this lightly...and I hope the message is heard
I pride myself in working with stand up, legit people....and when stuff like this happens it is not good. I do not do business this way and expect the same.

AND if anyone here...knows what and who I am talking about...DO NOT MENTION NAMES> That is not my intent YET>

At this point I am looking out for my Partners and myself. What steps can be taken in an ETHICAL MANNER to Rectify this? I know legal action is one step...but I am looking for others as well from an Online Perspective. For instance getting a site shut down, Internet Complaint Centers etc.

thanks
sean

    Sean,

Tough situation, especially if their paypal account was frozen.

More than likely that was the money that was going to be used to pay affiliates out.

How are they saying that they are going to make it right? I'm sure they must be passing some information along.

The problem is I have no account now!

I was very understanding, patient etc.
Business is Business...and I am aware
of all the Havoc behind closed doors.

but now ....I do not even have access
to my back office affiliate area. This
      is what is alarming.

    ahhhh

Yeah, at this point, I would be scratching my head wondering exactly what is going on.

I'll be interested in the answer if anyone is able to provide one as I'm sure that this could be something that happens more often than people know about.

I am with you on that one....there are a lot of commission issues...most get worked out. But this is turning out to be over the top!
and yes....if this happens more often than people now about...this would be a good thread to find out what steps have worked for people in the past. OR if there has already been a thread like this posted.....Someone please point it out to me so I can read it.

Yikes, Sean! I've had several similar situations myself, and it sucks when people don't keep in contact with their JV partners and affiliates about what's happening. But to cut off your access, well, I hate to say it, but I think you're getting screwed royally.

I'm not really sure what can be done about it, other than to continue to contact the person(s) and let them know you haven't forgotten that you're owed money. You can probably contact an attorney and find out your rights, and don't hesitate to let these people know what the attorney says about it.

    Good luck.

I cannot log into my account to see the record of monies that are due me and will be payable once you get the PP issue sorted-out. If you could correct that or, if there is a problem, address it via email with a statement of my earnings, that would e great.

Alternatively, if there seems to have been an unrecoverable server/database fault that has wiped-out the account details, please do contact me and let me know the situation. In such case I would prefer to cut my losses now rather than to spend money for legal represenation which others are considering at this time.

Please do simply let me know the situation on or before December 17th.

      Thank-you.

I appreciate that....and truly helpful, However I have exhausted polite and politically correct emails.

There was a certain degree of communication....but then it died off.
My assumption is that they got in over their heads. They recently did a relaunch that I did not participate in (which would = 3 launches in one year....the only thing that I can figure is that it was an attempt to make up revenues.

One thing I am going to do is contact all of my partners who participated and slam them with emails.....

A question of mine is how about public scrutiny. Press Release, Better Business Bureau, Online Methods......blacklisting etc

Good idea. Again, you don't want them to think you've forgotten <she says sarcastically>, blown it off or are giving up on getting your money.

That might be a bad idea, unless you've got enough physical proof (screenshots of commissions due, etc.) or enough people to back up your claims with the same story. You wouldn't want anyone to sue you for slander or something.
