Bulk SMS sending like facebook do?

Anyone know a good service that will allow me to send a number of SMS texts to people in my membership program for a relatively small cost?

I want to send them like 3-4 texts per day and have around 2000 members, if there is one that offers an API where I can add or remove people as they cancel and subscribe that would be great.

    I looked into bulk SMS for a project last year. It ain't cheap like email.

    Sending 7000 SMS messages a day would cost about $200 bucks a day.

    That's using the pricing offered by clickatell.com (who I seem to recall finding to be the most affordable) Search "SMS gateway" for plenty more companies.

      Thx Ryan, that seems really expensive to me there must be a cheaper option surley, I cant see facebook spending money like that with all there subscribers, I read somewhere that you can send an SMS for free my gmail or something, ill haev to look into that a bit more I think.

    There are some services that will let you send a free SMS, but not in any sort of quantity.

    Here's a tip: Most mobile providers give each phone an email address. Something like 5551234567@msg.mobilecompany.com (the format is different for each company)

    If you collect these addresses from your users then you can send short emails that will pop up on a phone just like a text message.
