Video making business: Do you think this is great?

Hello warriors!

I am new to this site and this is my first post. Anyways, I am Emmanuel a video maker from the Philippines. Ive been freelancing almost 2 years now.
Anyways, stop with all about myself.

I need your advice guys, I need your idea on this. I want to stop doing freelancing and be the one looking for work. I wanted to start my own online business still related to videos.

Like a site wherein I will post video template and they will order for me to edit it so they can use it on their site or product.

Do you think selling my services thru my website be a profitable idea?

Pls give me advice on how can I market it after? And can you give me an idea of what a good name will be.. like brand name? And give me your idea on how much you think is a fair price for a 1 min video.

Regards,

Emz

    Welcome to the forum!!!

I would check out the "Warriors For Hire" section, and post your offer there....

If you have a great service, and provide something that people need....it will be a hit!

I would study what else is selling right now, how much they are selling it for, etc....

Then, try a few things out. See what works. Then keep doing what works.

Thank you sir for your response. Is there a paid section at the warriors for hire section? So that you are always on top or something like that?

Yes! let me just hand you a full business plan with research and all on a platter.

What I think and what is verifiable research is 2 different things most likely.

Welcome Emmanuel! My suggestion: Go create a gig on fiverr.com and see what the response will be. This is really easy and you can make 5 bucks a pop (4 bucks since they take 1 dollar) People are doing this on there. Type video edit in the search box and look at what they are doing for 5 dollars. Make your offer better and you'll start getting some business. If your response is good, move onto warriors for hire.

Or do both at the same time. NOTE: fiverr will take some time to get rolling. You can send backlinks to your gig or put your gig into your WF signature so that they can go to it.

Yes, there is a market for video services. Go have a look at Pixability | We Edit Videos | Video Marketing Service -- they're growing like mad, and they charge $500. But, they work with corporations, so they can charge that price.

The prices you can charge depend on the quality of your work and who your customers are. Entrepreneurs and Internet Marketers go to fiverr.com and get a video made for $5. Corporations go to a place like pixability and pay $500.

Do some Google research on video services to see what's out there. Figure out what you want to offer and decide WHO your target market is. That will help you decide what you can charge.

    Good luck!

I could see it being profitable, especially if you focus on driving traffic to it.

Well guys, Basically I already have a good reputation and profile on elance and odesk (freelancing sites). And has lots of clients from the said website. How do I start to stop getting clients from this site, so that I get clients that will be coming from my own website? Or get clients to buy my video packages

You need to hike the price you are willing to do the work for. This way you can still take on work from there and demand a higher price.

You need to put together a portfolio with samples to display on a site you own.

You need to first build up your own site and drive traffic to it and make sure you can get the work without the help of elance or odesk.

Working through a company as a freelancer and trying to brand and sell your own work on your own are two different things. You may discover it is much easier to list your services on a freelancing site.

Selling unique original videos is without a doubt a big business. The question is will you be able to obtain videos people will want and will you be able to make the sales to them.

    Hi Emz,

Welcome to the forum. There are lots of ways you can make money with video online. In addition to the ways mentioed above, you can offer your services on this forum by running a WSO, scanning the "Wanted - members looking to hire you" section, or posting an entry in the "Wariors for hire forum".

By far the most lucrative way, though, is to make your own video based product and then sell it - either as a physical product on DVD or as a download, so your idea is on the right track.

When you say "video template" do you mean a graphics template? If you're skilled in software like (say) Adobe After Effects, I'm sure there would be a market for generic graphics that could be customized - I know from experience these things cost a fortune to have made bespoke.

As to how you go about marketing such a product, well, you've come to the right place . You'll find lots of useful information on this forum.
