Stop Showing Related YouTube Videos on Your Site

Why would you want to promote other people's Youtube videos? Especially on your own sales page.

I see this all the time even with experienced marketers. If you must use YouTube, at least disable the related videos option.

To do this, simply click the little star or widget wheel symbol next to the Embed code on the right panel in YouTube. It will give you additional options for disabling the related videos, different color options, and different sizes.

Maybe they didn't know that they could disable that option.

I'm referring to a marketer embedding his own YouTube video on his site and not disabling the related videos that appear after their video ends.

That's a great tip, Ron.

Also, when creating videos for YouTube, leave around 20 seconds or so blank time at the end.

That way, when people embed your video on their pages, it won't go immediately to your competitors' related vids when it stops playing.

I'm new to using video. This is a great tip.

I'm usually hesitant to use anything that will be promoting a competitor. I'm working to make myself a living, not someone else!

Why would someone put a youtube video on their salespage anyway. Unless it's a testimonial- thus youtube is good social proof.
When I see youtube on a salesletter I usually think of it as unprofessional, but those are just my 2 cents.

Two reasons I can think of being that you asked:

1) It's easy and convenient
2) To save on server load and bandwidth

Those related videos can be a distraction. Good idea to keep the focus on your sales message. Thanks for the tip.

Youtube videos are good - they are easy and simple to install on your site. However I agree with Chris on this. Since using his video creation services, I doubt I'll use a youtube video on my site again. period.
