Does anyone promote video games on Amazon?

Lately, I've wondered if promoting video games through Amazon Associates can be somewhat lucrative. Has anyone had any success reviewing video games? Or is that niche saturated?

Another reason i wouldn't know if this is a good idea or not is because usually when people look at reviews for video games, typically, someone would go to a website such as gamespot.com. Do you guys have any thoughts on this?

Thanks guys

I think the problem is that you'll have an initial sales peak when the game comes out and it will slowly die out as the game gets older.

So those aren't really long-term profits. This may not be true for "evergreen" games like Starcraft etc. that sell well over more than 10 years.

Just go ahead and try it.

  • Better off creating guides, tips, games analysis, communities and anything that involves people with the game. Obviously specific to the game.

As said above, once the hype dies down, anyone who's going to buy it would have bought it, after that sales die down and only the more reputable online stores then continue to make sales.

But when searching for terms about the game, even years after, there are people searching for solutions, tips, communities, competitions, games, best server hosting for that game, merchandise and more.

Anything that assumes the user already has the game.

I review video games linking up to amazon and have made some decent $$ especially at Christmas. As long as your review is decent and adds value then I don't think you have to worry about over saturation.
