Create a email list with $100

Hi,

If you had just $100 to create a list, how would you go about doing it? Would $100 be enough? Would you not need as much as $100?

I am just starting out and I am wanting to create a good email list, I am will to invest into it. Any tips and tricks would be much appreciated.

Thanks Rob.

    Rob,

It would help if we knew where you are starting from.

For example, do you already have an autoresponder
account? Do you have a domain and hosting?

Do you already have a squeeze page with a suitable
free product that you can offer your prospects?

You don't really need to spend money to build a list, but if you are prepared to invest in your list building efforts to get subscribers, you could spend it on email buys.

You could find other marketers in your niche (find them here on the Warrior Forum) with decent lists and pay them to send your offer to their lists.

You will just need to negotiate the price with the marketer and make sure you have a decent offer, or nobody will want to send it to their list.

If you choose the $100 to can make a list of 50 targeted subscribers,
or use the $100 to make a list of 1000 untargeted subscribers which one would you go for?

You can invest this into solo ads, but don't be surprised if you don't get an explosion of leads.

As others have said you need to also invest in a domain name, hosting, autoresponder.

There are so many factors involved including what niche you're looking to get into. In IM, you could buy a solo ad that directs them to a squeeze page. In another niche like "playing guitar", you may want to invest in some PPC traffic.

Maybe take that and get $100 worth of content written and do some SEO or article marketing.

    Sup Rob.

I'm currently operating on a small $100 budget myself and I
can tell you EXACTLY what I'm doing as I type:

First, I answered a few yahoo answers questions.

Second, I post a little more frequently on forums related to
    my niche

Third, I have a solo ad lined up for this Saturday which will
bring in an extra 50 - 100 leads (possibly more).

fourth, I'm creating a high-quality free report to be released
on document sharing sites like scribd and docstoc and, I'll be
sending this report to ebook submission websites.

and, I'm thinking about releasing it on this forum in the War
Room and maybe as a WSO itself - I got a feeling it'll help a
lot of people and will do well...on second thought, I'm gonna
    go for it.

Fifth, I'm going to write 40-50 articles to go to select article
    directories.

sixth, I'm currently looking for a few blogs to comment on in
    my niche.

and I think theres more, but all of this I'm operating on LESS
    than $100.

Here's the deal: You WILL work very, VERY hard to make up
for little capital to get ANY momentum going. It's a price you
pay for working on a tighter budget, but it CAN be done. Just
    focus, and you'll do well.

Hope revealing my personal work schedule helped.

The only thing that *has to* cost you money when creating a list is the autoresponder, web hosting + domain name...

You could create a free report / video to give away and generate all of the traffic for free if you're willing to do the "leg work"...

I think what we have to establish is are you talking about using that $100 to create a free product + squeeze page or are you using that $100 to generate traffic to an existing free product and squeeze page?

If you're talking about using that $100 on advertising. Then you're going to struggle to build a massive list with just $100... You have a few options. $40 for a WSO to promote your freebee. Pay people by the hour to post on forums with your squeeze page link in signature. Twitter blasts of Fiverr users. Pay someone to mail out your offer to their list...

If the $100 means a lot to you, then do the leg work yourself. If not, then you can "begin" to build a list with this outlay but you're going to have to continue funding or do the leg work afterwards to build the list up to something substantial...
