Selling advertising on a website

I want to sell advertising on my website, however I don't want to do click ads or anything like that. I want to charge a monthly fee say 50, 100 or 200 per month. This is pretty cheap compared to what these companies are currently paying for adwords and things of that nature.

This is probably going to be a little bit more than just advertising. I will give them an opportunity to place a brief description of their product with a link to their website and maybe even pictures. All products will be listed under the category that best fits their products. If they want a site wide ad, that would cost them more money.

I don't want to tell the domain name because it's adult in nature but it's not a porn site.

First of all tell me what you think of this idea and secondly does anybody have any sample sales pitches that they've used with moderate success.

Thank you

Eric

PS...This is my first post on this forum!!

Put an Advertising page on your site with your offer. Advertisers will find you if your site gets traffic. be prepaired to share on your advertising page what kind of traffic you do get, provide any proof screen shots there.

Then hope over to the adult webmaster forum and.. make a thread, add a sig link, find out who's buying ads and you'll get some buyers.

This will only work if your site is currently attracting a reasonable amount of traffic.

If your site does attract good traffic, it will be a matter of time someone will knock on your door to give an offer.

direct advertising can be a great source of income but you need traffic! Try to submit to buysellads.com if you have good traffic, you will find lots of advertisers there!

1: Its nothing new & webmasters are doing it for ages TBH
2: No, i don't have any sample sales pitch,
but a simple Google search will reveal a lot for you if you really need that!

For any advertising campaign to be success, you need to have decent number of unique visitors daily to your site/blog, advertisers will find you automatically if your site is popular & you don't even have to look for one...

Well from my experience once I also used to sell ads on my blogs probably selling banner spaces of different banner size. However finding those private advertiser is a difficult job but The things are easy now for me as I am currently working with buysellads and they collect advertisers for me but they take a certain share from your revenue.Performancing ads is another site yo may want to work.Although they take a share from your revenue but it worth for saving time, money and efforts.
