Anyone know of a flash video player that can load videos from the website root?

I have a client looking for a flash player that can load a flash video file that is stored outside of the public_html folder - does anyone know of one?

you have to write an action script in macromedia/adobe flash I suggest

donno what the script will look like though

I know this isn't a direct answer, but you could put a bit of PHP in the HTML file to copy the file into the public_html directory then play it from there.

Just a thought.

Hi Irmscher, Actionscript is something on my "to learn" list, but I havent' quite managed to get around to it yet

Hi Neil, that's what I'm thinking of doing - I was just hoping I could find a player that would actually do that already.
