Hi New Member could use an opinion re Info product fo dj's

Enjoyed reading stuff around here and finally joined and bought a couple interesting WSO's that have got my brain going.

I have been talking to some very popular local DJ's, more like radio personalities about the concept of information products.

If you wanted to sell a "How to Make 100K" being a radio personality product where would one go to sell such an item.

What is the best way determine if there would be a demand for such a product.

Regards,
Eddie

Might want to start with "How to get on the radio" info product first. I might buy that.

Find the market first - make sure they are buying online and then make something they want to buy and then sell it to them.

Creating the product first is backwards IMO.

best way to determine demand for a product?

Use google's keyword tool, check how many people are searching for every month.

Alternatively, you can browse radio/DJ sites or forums, then ask around or see what other people are checking/buying.

    Cheers,

Yeah Eddie, in my opinion too, ensure that the market is there first!

It's cool putting together a product but I imagine you want to make more than $27, right?

Keyword tool is important, use synonyms, explore all the options there. If there's a reasonable market, great, if not... don't worry too much.

Get onto the DJ forums and build up a presence there... 5 decent posts per day for about a month (get over 100 posts before you even think about mentioning selling something) to establish a kind of authority and you also get a real feel of the market too... this will also help you determine the viability of the market, but also help your sales in the future if you do go ahead.

Finally... don't forget the offline market. You're talking to the DJ's already... spread the word. There are tonnes of people who would love to get into Radio and such... go to schools / colleges / universities... go on student forums... the possibilities are there if you're willing to work for it.

You gotta make sure your book is really worthwhile though... it's essentially a career choice you seem to be helping folks with, rather than a hobby.

Having said that I did a quick little bit of research and it 'appears' that there's not a huge number of searches for this kind of thing online... and what there is seems to be kinda high competition already.

Don't let that sway your decision... but be prepared to make something spectacular. If it's good enough, and you're creative enough... you could sell it surely

I'm not saying there's no chance to make money here, not at all... what I am saying is that this appears to be one of those things where it's better for YOU to go to THEM... get involved, get among them... then sell them

    Best of luck sir!

This is a very hard sell.

The percentage of radio personalities making over $100,000 per year is very very small.

Most radio DJ's in a local market barely make minimum wage.

When you do your research you will find that out.

Now National DJ's that host syndicated radio shows is a different story.

Having been a DJ in a former life, I can attest to the fact that it is a hard market to break into.

    And the pay was terrible!

    As blur said:

An info product on how to get into radio or how to be a DJ could generate lots of interest!

Stay away from the $100,000 radio jobs... they are non-existant....
