Can Someone Explain This?

Ok so here's the deal I have two domains. The first is GamerzSites.com and the second BestMiterSawRatings.com.

When going to my websiteworth.com I find that the first is valued at $1129 dollars. This site is like 1-2 months older than the second and gets far less traffic, almost no ranking and generates no revenue. (Sad, I know)

The second site is highly ranked for some of my targeted keywords gets some traffic and makes me a small amount of money through Amazon. Yet when the value of that site is calculated it comes in at a paltry $65.

What gives? I am seriously considering selling the first site to help fund me and my marketing efforts for the second, but I am flummoxed as to why the first should rate so highly.

Any ideas?

honestly you cannot really trust this kind of valuation website. Most of the time they are giving false result.

Two things I have to say to these responses thus far: (And I'm not TRYING to be controversial)

    1. If the results are supposedly (possibly) false/faked Why then would they come up with similar results months apart.
    2. If the question is why trust that site, the responce is "Where would you go?"

There are a lot of those types of sites.. the ones that claim to value a domain. They are fake.

The only real way to get the value of a domain is to have a domain evaluation done by someone that actually does it. I can think offhand of GoDaddy's service for this. I am sure there are others thru other registrars.

    Search out the legit ones.

You cannot rely on those automated valuation sites for a real value. I'd be a multimillionaire if they were based in reality. Here's closer to what your site is worth ... 6-12 x monthly income generated, depending on economic climate and other factors about your website. For instance, if it takes a lot of work to generate that income, it is worth less, because basically, the buyers are lazy and don't want to have to work for it.

Other site assets can increase the value like a big list, huge Twitter or Facebook following, etc.

You really CAN'T value DOMAINS! They can change, etc... If you aren't buying the bulk of the talent, etc.. behind the domains, how could you really say WHAT they are worth.

And why would you think an online site could give you a value on that ANYWAY?

Now domain NAMES are a bit different. gamerzsites is a mid size domain name that has two words that are somewhat standard. They BOTH have a HIGH popularity. BestMiterSawRatings.com is a LONG domain name! HOW LONG? Well, it violates the old maximum for domain names, so it is LONG! It has FOUR words, Only one is a valid word that might be known by that program, and miter? saw? They might be rather low. If it is decent, it will throw out words like best as a keyword.

So gamerzsites being rated higher makes more sense. HEY, if someone had a site called hbaye, do you REALLY think it would be worth as much as ebay? *****NO WAY*****! WHY? It has a similar sound, is not much longer, so you would think the SITE, or domain, would be worth the SAME, RIGHT? NOPE, because ebay has CONTENT that SOME people like sometimes. But even a person couldn't guess its value, so don't think a program will.

Yeah, there are loads of these site evaluation sites but they are very inaccurate.

They pull information from websites based on domain name length, domain age, etc. and a lot of other useless information.

Just because your site is valued at $1000+ doesn't mean anything if no one will pay for it. And if it is not making any money or rankings there is no way it would be worth that on Flippa if you sell it.

I'd offer to sell the site to websiteworth.com, see if they really value it that much!

Don't believe a word about what these sites tell you.

I have a site, (PR 1, 1 year old) that for reasons I won't go into, gets 2 visitors a day, and has no ads or offers on it.

I ran it through several of these sites and it made very very happy because it returned the following stats.

    Daily uniques 724

    Adsense $34

    Affiliate sales $120

    Value $12,600

One of the companies had a contact email so I sent them a message offering them my site for $5000, and guess what,

No answer was the stern reply!

Treat these sites as good fun, because they will make you smile

Yep, websiteworth and all the others are worthless. Your site is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

unfortunately most of the people believe in those sites that give values to the domain.

What is important is the value that add to domain name that you have
