As with everything, it depends. What are your skills, interests? Affiliate marketing will always be profitable, provided you know what to market.

Article marketing is best used in conjunction with another income stream, like your own website or product. Then, always make sure your content is great and article marketing will remain effective regardless of Google's slaps.

I've tried my hands in affiliate marketing.

It works but it needs some time and a little bit effort.

Anyone can do it, but perseverance is needed.

As already said, don't know where your interests lie. If you are so inclined and like to mix some eyeball to eyeball contact with clients, offline marketing to small business is going to be real hot this year I think.

Check it out. You can get big return for the effort and the market place is asking for it. Its big in my 2011 plans.

Ignore the horror stories about article marketing, that's all they are - stories.

If you can produce good quality, useful articles that people want to read you'll be fine. Actually, you're better off now that you were before the Google slap.

So when it comes to article marketing, it's better to write 1 extremely informational article rather then 10 "ok" articles?

And im not looking for in particular "interest" just what works in 2011.

I already have an offline business set up i just need to start cold calling i'm just wondering what i can do in my free time to make a little extra cash, but im getting frustrated because i have been in IM for awhile now and im doing some reading on online marketing and everything i read is out dated im getting ebooks with link that don't even exist reading things that worked 2 years ago doesn't help either.

I'd really like to try out travis sagos bum marketing method but i dont know of it that was 2005?

Write good articles. Get an interest. You surely do have one, at least, and writing about it will ensure some quality to your articles. Maybe write about your offline business (oh, and put your offline business onto the Web in all ways possible. Site, blog, social media, etc. So worth the time and effort).

If you want to make some change with ZERO investment, like bum marketing, then go with HubPages. Write a good hub, add pictures, put some effort into it, and it'll make you AdSense and Amazon revenue. Then, scale up.

With article marketing, you're much better off focusing on quality rather than quantity, so I think you have answered your own question above. Ideally, you want to write articles of such informational value that they get syndicated by many sites - if you can do this consistently over time, this is where you'll see the greatest gains from article marketing.

Don't neglect your offline marketing either, since if your goal is to make money quickly, you're far more likely to do this with offline marketing as opposed to using articles! If you're uncomfortable cold calling, start getting salespeople to do the cold calling for you (either commission based or hourly, depending on your circumstances). Sitting on your hands waiting for things to happen won't accomplish anything at all.

  Just to ad my thoughts, it depends on:
  
  1. Your goals (what you are trying to achieve)
  2. Your skills (what you have/know)
  3. Your Strategy (your approach towards your plans)
  4. Your efforts (how you can do things)
  5. Your investments (how much you can invest (time+capital))
  
  If you set your goals in accordance with your skills, it would be easy for you to focus and work on a roadmap, to execute your plans. Once you invest time and efforts in performing various tasks to achieve your goals, there's no way you can see results coming up to you.

I dont think you can get a definite answer on which one is the best way to make money this 2011. It depends on your skills or the things you want to do. Anyway you can still do the traditional article marketing. Just make sure you make high quality articles only so it can have the higher chance of being syndicated.

There is no such things as the best ways to make money. You can make money in any business models. The question should be: "What's the best way for me?" You have to look into your strength, passion and resources.

For example, as a writer, my favourite way of making money online is to sell knowledge. Write it once and sell forever automatically.

I'm going to scale what scale what is already working.

My income is split between affiliate sales from a list and niche sites... plus a product or two. The sites and products that work best will be getting more attention, be refined and improved... and duplicated.

i will definitely focuz my effort on affiliate marketung rather than jumping from pillar to post. I have earned money from clickbank but now diversed into other things which never earn anything. Focus yr effort on what is working and scale up, period. Nothing more

Until now none of you have answered correctly? The Best Way to Make Money in 2011 is mobile advertisements. Create a site specifically for smartphones and earn loads of money through advertisements. This will be the biggest thing in 2012. So start it now and you will be well off by the end of 2012.

I'm agree with Shirlyn. Have all knowledge of your niche and you can make money with it. For e.g.: I'm having a good knowledge of SEO so I can sell my services and I can apply on my sites & hence earn through affiliate & other advertisements.

The best way to make money is the same as its ever been--find something that's being done and do it differently.

Although I'd second the offline/local thing, I think there's going to be a bit of a backlash against the internet in the coming years.

There won't be any backlash against you if you approach your offline marketing with the proper intent. The goal is not to sell your client thousands of dollars' worth of useless services that only pad your account, the bottom line here is delivering results - if you can add value to your client's business and increase his profits, you'll find referrals almost magically coming your way and more business than you can handle.

The best way to make money in 2011 is to Take Action with whatever skills you already have. There are infinite ways to make money, you just have to find what works for you and expand on it.

Business 101:

* Find/Create a Product, Service, or Offer.
* Send Traffic to that Product, Service, or Offer.

already know in to practice, stop buying all the latest new guru promo stuff and
focus on what kind of value you can give to your market and find a way to make

The answer to that my friend is subjective to say the least. Some of us make money doing the following;
- selling ebooks
- selling software
- selling templates
- selling Wordpress themes
- selling content on Elance (selling unique articles)
- managing membership sites
- running forums like this one
- making money with Adsense or Chitika (and the like)
- making money with affiliate commissions
- selling Click Bank products
That is just some of the different ways, and as the above people have mentioned, it all depends what your aptitude is. What your skill set is.

My choice is managing business blogs of my own and selling my services to those who want to do the same (ad over).

BUT to answer your question in MY opinion, it's going to be important in 2011 and onward, to make sure that if you are in the content game (which most us have to be in to sell our products and services), the content will have to be stronger and your platform for publishing your content sound.
