Starting Work for Hire site.. Fee structure question..

I just purchased a work for hire script that I am going to use to start my own work for hire site for myself and others who ant to work. I have been going to Guru.com, Elance, Scriptlance, odesk and a few others and see that they offer different options.

What I would like to do is

1. Allow workers to bid on an unlimited number of jobs
2. Have everything escrowed and then make a percentage off the job say 5%

But I see that guru.com charges $24.95 - 32.44 a month and $150 - 200 anually and a per job fee from 5 - 10%

And elance charges $10 - $40 a month and a fee of 6.75 - 8.75%

I was just curious what people looking for work are willing to pay.

Any suggestions will be welcome.

I know that elance also has a free package (you still pay a commission of course).

Honestly, I think you should offer a membership for free up to a certain amount of job postings or bids a month. Something like:

    >/=20 postings/mo - free
    21-30 postings/mo - $9.99/mo
    31-40 postings/mo - $19.99mo
    etc..

I don't think people will want to pay for a set price of unlimited bids if they are not going to use an unlimited amount of bids.

    Just my .02.

That is why I like vWorker.com. You have a unlimited number of bids and just pay a percentage on the work done. I don't like the idea of paying $20.00 for say 100 bids and out of the 100 bids get 0, zilch, nadda. I think it is fairer to let workers work and then get paid on a percentage of the job.

But a lot of the sites I see want you to buy credits and what not. I just want to get workers to work and make a profit without killing people.

I hear ya, I don't have that much experience in this area because I only recently joined elance. So why not make the membership 100% free and just collect a % of each job?

I agree. In fact, when I started with Elance, I paid something like $700/yr for unlimited bidding in the Graphic Design category. That was good. Then they got greedy and added all the pricing to bid in addition to the membership fee. Don't know what they're charging now as I stopped using them after the pricing for bidding change. Spent a fortune for bids and of course with the competition on Elance, many bids resulted in nothing. Big waste of money.
