Hi Warriors,

I have draft out something and am planning to do some serious work and take some real actions

With the help of some fantastic WSOs here, I have this idea to come out with a product (it will be like a 7 days or 10 days kind of course) and mass promote this stuff using web 2.0 social networks and video sites. It will be a simple informative product that have a simple squeeze page to tempt the user who comes to the site. But I am not sure how should I approach the user. Should I try to sell them this product at a very tempting measly $7 or even $1 through the squeeze page (which will capture their emails and into my list for future up-sells)? Or should I just give it out for FREE so that more people will be tempted to sign up and thus more people into my list?

I am seriously having difficulties in choosing between these 2 options. Should I charge for the small fee so that at least I can make some decent money (hope so) in a more faster and direct approach, or should I go for the FREE method so that I can capture more leads and hope to make some cash in the near future by selling them some other affiliate products?

What will the lead conversion % (the % that customers sign up into my list) like for a $1 or $7 offers as compare to a FREE offer?

I am still pondering.. as I have no previous experiences and have yet to earn my "REAL" first dollar in IM.. LOL

Thanks for any advise and opinions..

    Hi erickz,

If all the traffic is coming from your own efforts - so no affiliates to worry about.

Then split test free,$1,$7 and even other prices yourself ;-)

If you go free then you might have a huge list, but they won't be too productive. They will expect more free stuff, instead of be willing to spend money. I would charge a small fee, so you know there is a better possibility they will buy in the future. Just my opinion

Thanks for the opinions. Ya maybe I should charge a nominal fee.
We always heard that people tend to grab all those freebies and never really take actions because it doesn't really matters much to them at all. So charging a little amount maybe would pick up the right group of people who are motivated to take action. And I like the idea of split testing too. I almost forgot about this..

      Hi Erickz,

I personally wouldn't expect much value in a product priced at $7 or less, unless it was presented well. If you sell at $7 or less I would convince the potential buyer that the product is regularly $47 and give a very compelling reason for offering the product for $7 or less. If the product isn't worth $47 then add valuable content until it is. For example, perhaps you purchased a life changing book last year that you could only afford because the authored offered a Christmas give-a-way for one week only. Now you want to do the same for others during the last week before Christmas.

This is just an idea to prevent the association of cheap product = crap product and it should build a list with more than just freebie or cheapy seekers.

      Hope this helps.

      Scott

I would also agree with what's mentioned here. It is very valuable to establish a list of people willing to pay money, even if its just a few bucks. This will lead to a smaller list, but it will be of high quality.
