INTERNET MARKETING

I don't see how this could be a problem, but I just thought I'd ask here, just in case.

Is there anything (tos, etc.) that would stop someone from making their facebook fanpage TO BE their 'website?'

That is, can you make your url redirect straight to your fanpage?

Does that violate the domain name registrar OR facebook's tos?

I can't see why it would, but I'm just 2ble checking here.

Please advise.

PS: Just to show how FB is taking over, basically -- I heard some commentator say that young people today will pretty much grow up thinking that facebook *IS* "the internet," and vice versa.

You could set up a 401 redirect, which would send traffic from a domain straight to your Facebook page. I can't see a reason why anyone would want to do that tho, why not just send traffic straight to FB?

Thus, the 'getting traffic' and the domain name / url are basically one and the same, in this case. That's the reason for my original question.

I just need to know if doing that would violate any tos's.

I don't think it violates any terms. One of my clients did the same thing a few months ago. His domain redirects to his facebook page. Well I don't remember which page, but he did it. And I think it's completely legit. Then again, I could be wrong. Though I've never actually read that you're not allowed to.
