List Building Trick of the Trade...Today's Helpful Tid Bit

I sent this to my list today and I thought there are plenty of list builders that might find this useful. Check it out:

Hey!

TGIF...am I right?

I can't wait for this weekend. My birthday is next Wednesday so this weekend is my celebration time. I have some close friends coming in town. It should be great.

If you're building a list, I have a nice little trick of the trade that helped boost my revenue quite a bit.

The people you promote to on your list will in most cases have a day job. They will get paid once every two weeks. This is usually at the first of the month and around the 16th - 20th.

The majority of people like to get their bills out of the way in the first of the month. That paycheck is taken by rent, electricity, car, etc...

This leaves that second paycheck with much more cash to spare. If you plan on promoting to your list, the best time to do this is right around the 18th.

Here's how I take advantage of this fact. For any niche list I have (especially the automatic autoresponders), there are two promotions per month. I try and lock down at least 1 joint venture per month and I count that as a promotion.

These joint ventures are promoting another marketer's freebie though... This "promo" is perfect right around the first of the month. Your readers are low on money? ...perfect time to give something away for free and show your value.

The promotion to my product or my affiliate product is sent either the 17th or the 18th. They both seem to work well.

I also use this strategy when paying for advertisement in ezines or newsletters. You wouldn't believe how much impact it has on a well placed ad.

Start thinking about little things like this. Understand who your ideal buyer is the best you can and you can increase your profits incredibly by making your sales funnel exactly what they need.

Have a great weekend!

Travis

That explains a lot... a majority of my sales in are either near the beginning of the month or right in the middle. That's a neat thing I didn't think of till now when I went back and checked out my stats.

Thanks! Now I am going to wrap a game plan around that!

    Da#@, there goes a goldie!

Can you believe it took me SIX YEARS to learn/realize this?!

It's one of my "best kept secrets" of list marketing, don't believe
I've EVER revealed it before - and profited massively over years.

There are times (like this) when I 'hate' the WF for revealing such
    secrets

Now that the cat's out of the bag, go grab it and profit wildly!

Thanks, Travis, for giving away that golden nugget!

    All success
    Dr.Mani

P.S. - Let's go the whole hog and add another twist... Friday's
work best with this approach (in my testing)

Nice tips! It's amazing how some things are so obvious and when they're pointed out you think "why didn't I think of that?"

A couple quick questions for both of you, Travis and Dr. Mani. Do you send a pre-sell message sequence to your subscribers during the two weeks beforehand? If so, do you let them know that something's coming up or do you just tend to automatically make your offers around that time frame?

During the weeks I don't promote, I will send quality content that is directly related to the promotion that I will be sending at the end of the month. Get's the reader's feet wet.

I only like to send a direct pre-sell email days before when I'm launching a new product or I'm having a special discount on my products.

It all depends on the list though.

Nice tip...that I will add to my list building armory.

It's amazing how many list builders insist on bombarding their contacts' inboxes with sales pitches almost daily. My solution to that is to quickly unsubscribe from their list.

Thanks again for this useful tip.
