Hi folks,

Well yet again I've come up against a whole raft of confliciting advice, this time it is the guise of whether one should ping their backlinks in order to get them indexed or not.

Several weighty members of this forum in their various WSO's advocate letting google find the links naturally, whilst others suggest that the only way google will give you the link juice is by getting the links found asap.

So does anyone have a clear view on this? I'd really apprecate your advice and if it is pro-pinging - what is the definitive ping solution?

Depends on personal preference, the type of links, and the volume of links.

Ok so I did a little background stalking on you :-0 (I hope you don't mind) and ~I was naturally looking at your link building service. This maywell be somethi ng I come back to in time. However I saw you mention "linklicious.me" is their basic package something that will help me on my way to get my links indexed?

I can tell you what works for me.

For new sites, I build my links slowly and consistently, increasing the number of links progressively along the time. I always try to get my links from a variety of sources and build different levels of links. By this I mean that I first build a layer of links pointing to my page and then I build backlinks to some of the articles that have links to my page.
I never use massive link building, except for sites that are old and have already plenty backlinks.

My opinion is not to ping backlinks but of course you can if YOU think it is best. AFter all, SEO is mostly built on OPINIONS. I tell my customers to not ping the links as pinging thousands of links at once can cause red flags that Google will not appreciate.

Same here I do RSS and Bookmarking but all automated. But I just noticed quite recently even with my new sites it gets indexed within 24hours. I tested one my new site and found out that if you edit the page or add content it took nearly 24-48hours until it gets indexed again.
