Hello!

can anyone recommend a software product to convert Microsoft Word (doc) documents into PDF documents? And also software to edit PDF documents?
Is there any free software that will do that ?

Thank you for any help.

Regards,

Robert

Google Docs is the best tool for the job in my opinion. Other options are, downloading a PDF printer, and using OpenOffice.

Here is a completely free way to do it that even preserves your links:

Download Open Office at openoffice.org and then watch this very short video that shows you exactly how to do it. It's a matter of 3 or 4 clicks to convert your document.

pdf995.com also has free software, including editing. You can pay under $10 for the full version, but you don't even need to do that.

I also use the Bullzip PDF print driver (free) -- it's one of the best I've found (out of about 6 I've looked at as alternatives to Adobe's software).

And there are sites online that'll convert the file free (although if you use non-standard fonts they won't convert -- they MAY convert if you embed them in Word, but I haven't tried that)... Google "free online doc to pdf converter" and I'm sure you'll find a few results.

    Check out CutePDF.com.

The CutePDF writer installs itself as a "printer subsystem". This way any Windows application that can "print" can create a PDF file.

I've used it with Word and it works very well.

There are several other free ones out there too...you shouldn't have to pay for a product unless you really need more sophisticated editing tools that don't come standard.

Yes,this is the best way to do it.Although MS requires you to pass validation before the download, you can download the same plug-in from here without the need for validation: mydigitallife.info/2007/06/01/direct-download-link-for-office-2007-save-as-pdf-or-xps-with-no-validation/
