Hey Warriors

I haven't been keeping track of the changes occuring at Ezines recently. I would just like to know if Ezines have changed their terms and are now allowing contextual links within the article body and not just the resource box?

Same rules still apply in reference to placing links in your article. Can't be above the fold and can't be an affiliate link. The only changes they have really made are now your articles must be 400 words or more and they are reviewing the articles more intensely to make sure they are of good quality. Which is great for those of us who always write quality articles.

Did they always allow links within the article body? If this is so then ignorance isn't bliss because I've been submitting articles for over 2 years and didn't know this.

Your promotional links go in the author bio not the article body and it's stayed the same. This is from their terms:

'If you sell hard in the ARTICLE BODY by including your URL or product pitch or blatant self-promotion, we will toss your article without notice. The RESOURCE BOX is where you get to pitch yourself or your website address. '

Maximum of (2) "Self-Serving" active or inactive links/URLs to a website that you own, control, or have an interest in.

Maximum of (2) active or inactive non-self serving links/URLs to a website that you do not own, control, or have an interest in which adds value to the article.

Confine your self-serving links to your RESOURCE BOX.

We do not accept articles with active or inactive links in the first 1-3 paragraphs. Please put your active links in the resource box below the article body. The article BODY is your "GIVE" and the RESOURCE BOX is your "TAKE."

Thank you Patricia for the detailed reply.

I actually came across an article written by a marketer that I know and he had a link within the body that points to one of his sites. That is what made me wonder whether Ezines changed their policy.

Thanks again for your reply. It's much appreciated!

No ... that one must have just slipped through the net.

They haven't always been too consistent in the way they've enforced the editorial guidelines.

At the moment, they seem to be a lot more consistent, which is good.

The bottom line here is that there's really no point in putting any links in the article itself, because they're not allowed to be "self-serving" in any way.

They are only letting you put one link in the body. I had to wait for an approval for 15 days because the article earlier was rejected because it had 2 links.
