Question about squeeze pages

Hello,

1) Okay, I'm getting ready to put a squeeze page in the root directory.. OR have the WEBSITE.COM forward to the squeeze page.

2) once they sign up for the list, they will then receive the information for the web address of the site. The site will be located in the /BLOG directory.

My question is, as I use my keywords in my blog entries, won't my /blog directory be the one to get indexed, and not the WEBSITE.COM (the main website with the squeeze page)? So organic traffic will naturally be directed to the blog.

3) Should I put a option in the blog "if you're not on my mailing list please sign up" type of thing?

Thanks!

  • can't you just copy the subscribe box from the main page to the blog page or visa versa?

then they'd sub the same one regardless of the page they land on

    Hmm,
If the "subscription box" is on the squeeze page, and on the informational page, that would be in too many places, it seems. I prefer it when the person signs up for the squeeze page, the have the URL to the informational page without always having to go through the squeeze page.

you wanted to know how to get people who land on your blog instead of the squeeze page to optin also.

      1. put the optin box on the blog also

      2. put a link to your squeeze page

you can copy and paste an optin box to wherever you want it

        Okay,
I'm following you now, basically option # 3 on the first post.

So I can put a message, "Please sign up for X by clicking here" type of thing in the blog.. so if they are not a member, they will be compelled to sign up.

  • most people just start a blog on the root directory, get the seo traffic, and try to convert it from there to subscribers with offers, freebies, popups, whatever

    good luck
