Wow, such a newbie question, but here it is (article marketing)...

Hey you guys,

Here is my question, and I'll keep it terse. When submitting one article to different article directories, do you guys use the same title or change the title for each submission?

For example, say you're submitting an article on how to get more strikes while bowling, and you're going to submit that same article to different directories. Would you use the same article title that you used at say, Goarticles, and use it at articlebase, enzine, etc, or do you come up with different titles for each submission?

I hope that this isn't a dumb question.

And before anyone says to "search," I did that. There were a lot of GREAT threads on article marketing, but I didn't see any with my particular question.

You have a choice. You can change the title or keep as is.

I generally submit an article to EZA then change the title and mass submit it. But I could use the exact same title if I wanted to.

The key is to use the same pen name so it is considered your property and you have rights to use it.

Hi MagicWhisper - Here's a warrior thread that speaks exactly to your question:

As with anything, there are pros and cons. Personally, I don't change anything about my articles. I leave all the content, including the title, the same.

It doesn't matter if you change the title or not. There are plenty of pages with the same title tags that compete with each other in the search engine organic rankings. If you mass submit your article with the same title and body to different directories, then Google will choose one article as the authority and designate the others as duplicate content. The other articles will still give you backlinks, but they just won't rank as high.

If you do decide to rewrite each article with at least 40% difference from the original one, then the rewritten ones will be counted as unique content and they will therefore rank more highly in addition to giving you more backlinks.

    Hope this helps.
