Wordpress Categories Question

Hi guys,

I've tried asking this at the Wordpress.org forum but not had
any response that helps.

I am using the MassivePress WP template which creates a nice
picture gallery of all the posts I make. Every time I make a post,
I simply add it to the category 'featured' in addition to whichever
categories I want it to appear in.

The 'featured' gallery is a bit of php which sits in the third column
and shows little thiumbnaol images of all my post images.

I have set my permalinks to /category/postname.html

The problem I am having is that the URL of EVERY post I make
defaults to having 'featured' as its category.
EG: http://www.domainname.com/featured/postname.html

Which is not helpful for either visitors or search engines.
How do I change this?

Thanks,
Phil

First off, I would only add a post to *one* category. I believe this is better for seo since it avoids the duplicate content penalty.

Thanks, but the 'featured' category is a picture gallery, it doesn't display the
article itself, only the picture associated with the article.

Because of the way you have your permalinks set up, you are going to get "featured" displaying. You need to change the permalink structure to something else.

    Using Permalinks WordPress Codex
