is ClickBank the best service to use to sell something on your site?

whats up everyone...been lookin around the forums for a week or so now and you guys have inspired me to make a site so thanks you are all awesome

however im about to launch a website that offers a service. with this service I want to be able to offer a refund to the customer if they are unsatisfied with the purchase. the refund requests could within only a few hours of the initial
purchase. there could be many refunds happening, is there any precautions against this?

if clickbank wont allow this is there any other service like clickbank that would?

thanks for all your help

If you're selling a service, using PayPal directly may be your best bet. ClickBank is best used for downloadable products.

If you expect a high refund rate, maybe you need to reconsider your service?

Why would you offer a service if you are expecting a high refund rate before you even launch. If you get a high rate of refunds that is not going to help build a customer base and will only get you a bad name. Could adversely affect your Paypal account as well.

        Boss,

This sounds dangerous, a service which offer high refunds are normally not preferred by any Product provider and even by the Payment provider Industry. These also will not help you to run your business for long time.

        Thanks & Regards

Really? I would think that a failed male gigolo service would have a high refund rate within minutes. If the customer was occupied for hours, I would have expected a low refund rate and a high retention rate.

The hours leading up to the refund requests were fine. It was something about my crying like a baby that they didn't like at the end.

Maybe the OP will sell you some advice for dealing with that.

If you have a high refund rate, you risk any payment processor either shutting you down or raising your processing fees.

Plus, at some point, if I recall correctly, PayPal will be passing the refund costs on to sellers. That is, when a refund is processed, there is a transaction fee. So, whenever that kicks in, if you have a high refund rate, you're going to be losing money. You won't just lose what they paid you, you will also have to cover the refund transaction cost.

So, for example, if a refund transaction costs 25 cents, for every 100 refunds you get, it will cost you $25.

Yes, every payment processor looks after their own butts and will shut down accounts that are troublesome. "Too many refunds" could have you fall into that category.

You are getting upset that we are cracking jokes in your thread, but the real joke is that you are considering launching a business that you feel confident will result in "too many refunds".

You already got the best advice: if you know you will have a lot of refunds... don't event bother to start that "service site". It is that simple.

You may want to re-think your business plan...

      Can you restructure your service?

We don't know what kind of advice you wanted to sell, but let's say it's dating advice.

In this example, why not offer free dating advice? People can ask for advice anonymously, and then you post the question and your response.

You could monetize with ads, AdSense, CPA offers, etc. You could promote dating sites, dating advice books, or even write your own book and sell it.
