I've Got A Great Idea

Hey guys have been working on an idea for a website that i think would absolutely dominate the relationship niche, the problem is i don't know how to build the site. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a really good web designer, am willing to split profits with someone who can make it happen.

Are you expecting an investment of money??

Your best bet would be to find a local web designer, look at their portfolio, talk to them, and see what they suggest.

Has to be local as otherwise you will find it very hard to keep control of the project. Your idea may be great but it may be extremely costly to implement. My brother had a great idea for an accountancy site, but the quotes for development were in 6 figure sums, so he quickly abandoned it.

Vicky, I may be interested, since I already have some fingers in the relationship pie (development and investment-wise).

PM me or email me at heather at heather claus dot com.

  • Hi Vickybabe. By 'someone who can "design" the website' for you: Do you mean visual look, feel and layout, or site functionality, or both? There are 2 main website development sections:

    1. Functionality -- This involves viewer panel and admin panel website functionality.
    2. Form -- This involves logo banner conceptualization and design, website layout conceptualization and design and overall visual look/feel conceptualization and design.

For section 1 above: I suggest listing down your requirements, i.e. An opt-in form for your viewers to subscribe to your mailing list, a registration form for viewers to become members of your website, login user panel for your site members and so on...

For section 2 above: I suggest writing specific visual design requirements with viewable relevant citations. Then: You can request for some design ideas from the graphics designers, headed by a person with visual communications expertise...

If you just need average section 1 requirements and focus more on an excellent section 2 output: You're looking at a price range of $3K to $10K and above...

If you just need basic section 1 requirements and a decent section 2 output = $500 to $2K...

Of course: Pricing will become clearer once your exact specifications have been carefully studied and reviewed...
