If it is a targeted and focused list, that is nothing to sneer at. What good is a large list if they aren't ready to buy?

I totally agree. It doesn't matter how many subscribers you have as long as they are targeted OR if they came through because they bought something (best kind of subscriber).

Yes the list is laser targeted and 90% already bought services from me ! So this is a good number, eh ?

100 subscribers in 3 weeks isnt bad atal. Don't feel discouraged, keep at it.

Build on this model, try different traffic models to your squeeze page, and even try some interactivity with your list.

Quality is definitely better than quantity with list building.

What use is 1000 freebie seekers and tyre kickers?

Besides, 100 subscribers in 3 weeks is good going so do not get discouraged.

Yes, important point here is not to get discouraged ... 100 in three weeks isn't actually that bad at all, and you're probably doing better than most.

I know someone who started selling a paid subscription info-product, and only had 1 subscriber for 6 months - each month, he had to create an info-product from scratch for this 1 guy. He could have been demotivated by that and given up, but he stuck with it, learning as he went, and now has several hundred if not several thousand.

Stick with it, keep communicating with them, and gradually add in more ways to build your list further, and it will gradually accelerate over time ... good on you!

That's not bad at all. That's 1500 subscribers in a year. No one ever said it was easy.

There are different ways to get lots of subscribers fast.

You can pay for a solo ad to be blasted out to 100,000 people and that will get you subscribers.

You can create a killer product and sell it right here on the forum and add 100-1000 subscribers in a few days time.

You can do some PPV advertising to send people to your squeeze page.

Doing it the free way is going to take time unless you are driving massive traffic to your site.

Keep it up and you'll soon start realizing the power you hold with your list.

Not sad at all! Getting people on your list can sometimes be like a snowball rolling downhill. It may start off a little slow but can start building very quickly.

I will say that I would rather have a small targeted list of people who care about what I am doing versus a huge non responsive list. Don't worry about the numbers right now, just pump out lots of great quality and keep kicking some butt.

It all depends on how you're getting the traffic. What are you doing to get traffic? Btw, 100 subscribers in 3 weeks is nothing to sneeze at, but it would be helpful to find out exactly what you're doing to get those subscribers so we can give you feedback on what to scale up.

If all those subs are buyers then it's pretty good and you'll more than likely be able to start converting some of them into customers but if they're freebie fanatics or are from countries where they can't pay for things online then the reality of it is that you may struggle to get any sales out of it.

Just selling things for $5-$7 for instance confirms that sub as a buyer who has the ability to buy things online which is crucial to future success. Good luck.

This is what I was going to ask... Where is the traffic coming from.

5 subscribers a day isn't that bad. Is this just traffic from your blog opt-ing into a form on the sidebar or is this squeeze page traffic?

If it is squeeze page traffic you can start testing and figuring out your conversion rate then testing more to drive it up higher.

Your answer could be that you just need more traffic...

Try making some videos and posting to youtube, take the audio from that video and turn it into an mp3 and submit the podcast. Write articles and PR's and submit them. Buy some solo ads (this is super fast!). Keep the traffic coming and it will all snowball...

      Good Luck

That's awesome. 100 subscribers in 21 days is not bad for the beginning. I'm assuming you are using free traffic sources like articles, blogs, forums, videos, and social media. This kind of subscriber gain is great in the first 3 weeks.

You hear people doing xxxx subscribers in xx days because after you've built 100 lists, you understand exactly what traffic sources are going to produce huge results. You focus your efforts on those traffic sources. It's also common to have friends in high places the longer you've been working in an industry.

For example, I am building my IM list right now. The best possible way for me to do this is within this forum. I could post articles all day in the "make money online" niche but I would receive 1/10 the results I could get from posting 1 WSO. I would make money with the WSO right away too.

This money could be used to pay for advertising on the forum...or in ezines...or for solo ads. This is all traffic that comes in large bursts. With the right sales funnel, this can be turned into more profit. Which can be used for more advertising.

Each niche is going to have it's Warrior Forum. It may not be as powerful as this place, but it will be your source of targeted buyers. If you keep scaling up the positive results, you will quickly build a large list.

Have you sent a promotion yet to the list? With 100 subscribers, you could possibly get a couple buyers. This revenue can be used to purchase your first banner ad.

Using the principle I mention above, I've been able to add nearly 300 buyers to my list over the past 3 weeks. This is with no list or product to start with.

You're doing great. Keep up the good work.

I agree with the others - 100 subscribers in 3 weeks is not too bad. The important thing is that they are targeted and responsive subscribers. Targeted depends on where you are getting them from. Responsive will depend on how consistent you are with emailing them and how you "train" them.

You can increase this to up to 500 - 1000 by running a good wso which you can give away for free. Then, find good adswap partners in the jv section and you'll triple it in no time. Its that simple

100 subscribers is better than nothing. Keep building that list until customers start buying. It will come.
If potential buyers want something, they will buy the product.

Maybe you could tell us how you built that list? It might inspire the newbies starting out.

That's a great start, nothing to be sad about.

What was your unique subscribe rate? That will tell if your numbers are really good or really bad... either way though, 100 subscribers is a great start.

    Good job.

Wow ! Its rad to be able to inspire people Well I used tactics like - approaching my past customers and new clients with crazy offers and discounts. Something like - Join my list to avail this discount It works if people have already purchased or are you planning to purchase a product or service from you !

Do people with just 100 subscribers in their list opt for adswaps too ? I thought those were the 'IM guru's' ?

Well they are targeted but not too responsive it seems. I started off 2 campaigns and got 1 sale - so thats 1% !

Hi Travis - Awesome advice here. Yes WSO's work great - I do have a small list of buyers from my WSO's - Maybe I can send a campaign to them and see how it goes ? *Some food for thought.

Coming back to my current list, yes, I did send an email which got me 1 sale so that 1% - dat a good rate ? The idea is to scale up, I believe.

So long as you're only promoting/selling your own stuff via MailChimp, and not others' stuff via affiliate marketing, because this is prohibited as per their terms of service / acceptable usage policy; several affiliate markters here have had their accounts closed - without any sort of notice - and completely lost their lists by utilising them for this purpose.

I agree with what everyone else has said, 100 in 3 weeks isnt too bad at all. It is a process if you do it correctly. In addition to getting more subscribers, you should also be taking care of the 100 that you already have. In other words, send them relevant information that they can actually use.

When I build a list, I usually hit them up with a bunch of freebies before I try to sell them something. I know others will say to hit them up right away. You just have to find your balance that will work for you.

not much to add to some solid advice in the thread - be proud, probably 95% of internet marketers NEVER even try to build a list. Just focus on providing incredible value to your list, focus on your niche (forums, etc) and you will succeed. And finally, don't ever be fooled by the "65,729 opt-ins in 14 days!!" bs
