focus and determination - too many people get sidetracked by the next shiney thing and therefore loose focus. Ive done it several times. Be determined - in my experience it takes time any IM business needs constant work even when you think Oh I can't be bothered because Im not getting anywhere - so many people give up just before its starting to come together & work out

To be successful when starting out at IM you must decide on one niche and STICK TO ONLY THAT ONE!!

From all advice i've gathered there a many many people out there who are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to internet marketing, however they have what i call "blanket knowledge", they have attempted all sorts of methods of making money online, and by doing this have been educated well. however they haven't exactly gotten anywhere! they start on one program, then jump to the next as soon as things start to slow down.

this is a great way to be knowledgeable, but the only benefits of this is sometimes an average or less than average income, and being able to share your knowledge on forums such as this.

Many people opt- out right before they're about to crack into it properly, they don't stick with it long enough to see it through to it's whole potential!

The best advice i can give, is designate a solid six weeks to any one method, and during these six weeks, DO NOT even consider another program! See it through for this whole time and you will see your success levels in your chosen field grow.

the key word is persistence! i would also advise reading Napoleon Hill's book: "think big and grow rich". every successful person i know has told me they read this book before starting out!

      GOOD LUCK!

Always have a Plan and Stay Focus on your plan. Do not keep jumping from one project to another project, and master traffic generation. With this two, i am sure that you will be earning your first dollar online very soon.

    DO:
    - focus;
    - work on ONE method at a time;
    - rinse and repeat.

    DON`T:

    - quit if it seems to be "too hard" some days.

I say pursue your passion as well.

So many people new to this business jump into IM thinking the only way to make money is by selling "making money online" products. This is not true.

Of course you want to invest your time in the most profitable ways but there are so many ways to profit from IM, try to pursue a niche that you're interested in. It will help maintain your focus.

Stick to one thing and master it. For example, if you want to start by promoting other peoples products then learn everything you can about affiliate marketing.

Dont do what most of us have done in the past (me included). That is, jump from one "great idea" to another. You will get side tracked pretty easily and in the long run you wont get anything done.

Thats the best tip I can give you.

        Good Luck,
        Rich

          thanks for all the replies.

few years ago, i actually made the mistake of trying various kind of thing. which gave me almost no result. made me gave up and goes to find 'real work' like everyone else.

now i plan to master one system first and make money consistently before moving on to another.

Great concise tips, Alex! Cut out all the distractions and work on only one thing at a time, and bring your commitment to the table. It's not enough just to "dabble" in internet marketing, there will be some days where you get incredibly frustrated and nothing will be going your way, and you just have to power through this.

Just make sure that you only work on one system or method at a time (this is VERY important) - I've seen newbies get lost for months or even years trying to be smart by attempting multiple things simultaneously, to their ultimate detriment.

Yes, I was like you before, chasing after the shiny penny, but now I get myself more grounded to focus on just one thing. It takes more effort to keep starting something new and it's also less productive.

My mantra now is Make a written plan, Be accountable to it, Stay focus, Keep at it to master it well and Never give up.

Wishing you the best in restarting IM!

When I started IM, I wasn't successful at all. My main problem was obviously I didn't take action at all because I was too busy trying to learn the new technic and endup not using it because I had to learn the next one again.

At that time, I was definitivly younger than you and I couldn't understand how to stick at something even if their is only a long-term benifit.

It's a normal process to buy lots of products when you first enter IM. I, for one, is guilty of this. The important thing is to find out which area in IM that you want to focus on and start from there. Just stay focus to learn everything about it to make it work for you and you will succeed.

I used to think that buying software/products will provide me with a shorter way to success. Although some products are good stuff, I find that I get more confused about where I'm heading and end up not using most of them after a few tries. Now I'm more grounded and focus on building backlinks for traffic to my sites. Yes, I still buy stuff but very selectively.

So if you want to start seeing some results, get yourself grounded on one thing at a time. In fact, I started with earning only few cents a month at the beginning, so don't get despair if you don't see any results - just keep going, it will come. Be focus, be consistent and persevere and you will succeed.

        Good luck!

Write down things that you know best, then implement them. BUT one by one, do not bounce from one idea to another. Stick to the best topic you know, do a research, read and constantly learn new things. Have passion about what you are doing. Good luck!

Research is they key, try not to waste time on ideas that have been used a million times already. Everything you do will be trial and error as something that works for one person may not work for everyone.
Don't take on too many things at once, keep it simple until you find something that works.
If you have trouble doing certain jobs or don't have the time(some jobs take forever to complete), outsource. There are plenty of places to get work done for you at very good rates, I use Mturk and Fiverr for many jobs that I don't have the time to do myself, or don't have the ability to do well enough.
Keep to ideas and niches you have a passion for to start with as it will work out much easier to keep that quality content flowing.
Enjoy what you do, the last thing you want is to spend your time doing something that bores the hell out of you, you may as well get a normal job if you want to do that, lol.

    +1

You need as well to make a plan of action. Set yourself a goal and what you need to do to reach this goal. Then everyday work on this plan.

I think the most important is to believe in yourself and to keep going.

Even if your parents or your best friends discourage you, if you believe in yourself, you will succeed.

Welcome to the Warrior Forum. Get started on ONE thing and keep your credit card in your wallet. Seriously. You could easily spend thousands of dollars on tools and WSOs and still not make any money. Get the knowledge for practically free and apply the knowledge. It helps greatly if you are not in a hurry.

Pick something you are interested in - you either already or an expert in it or you would like to learn more about it - and create your income streams based on that. Whatever you choose, stick with it to the end before you choose a second topic. Get all the way finished, be it success or failure.

Having your own website need not cost a lot of money. Your domain registration is going to be about 10 dollars a year, your hosting costs should be no more than 5 or 6 dollars a month. So that is $70 tops for one year of expenses. Your first goal is to earn that back. You can learn WordPress in less than a day and use a free theme so the site itself can be free. Don't get hung up on the design elements. WordPress can be easily made to look just like a 'real' website instead of a blog.

Keyword research is free using the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. Instead of buying any tools, I would first buy a War Room membership. You will get TONS of free resources by doing that.

If you are in a hurry to earn money, find something you can offer as a service over at fiverr. The goal is to perform a minimum of three gigs per hour, so each gig must cost you only twenty minutes of time, including answering annoying questions from potential buyers. That will get some money in your pocket after a few weeks. Your goal is to come back to Fiverr as a buyer when you see what you need for your IM business.

Stay focused - don't get distracted by this forum or any other. Wishing you success!

Hey there, welcome to internet marketing!

A lot of people have already said it - but stick to it, don't give up, have a plan of action, and execute it!

If you run into obstacles, just keep going.

Okay... not tangible advice (like go to x site and do x step for money) - but honestly these fundamentals will help you everywhere in life.

    Hi arcanetyro,

I'm a beginner too, and like yourself, I too started poking at IM a while back, but hung it on the shelf when it didn't produce the results I wanted as fast as I wanted. And again, like you, I've recently returned, although this time with a different mindset. I purchased some software and courses, some were good and were kept, some I returned.

Then I started crawling WF, reading everything I could come across that interests me to update myself and pick up new tips. And the more I read, the louder this voice inside my head became,; "Stop reading and start working!"
I realized I'm doing the same mistake that I did the first time; I'm looking for a "get rich quick" solution. The helpful tips and replies of the more successful and experienced marketers in here started to gradually blend and get focused and narrowed into this; "Stop waisting your time reading on what you already have found the answer and solution for, create a business strategy and a plan of action, and then execute that plan! Set it into action, the landing pages won't build themselves, and your list won't magically have hundreds or thousands of subscribers in it over night, and your page won't rank on the first page of Google all by itself! Get to work! And keep working!"

I think that most of us beginners become too easily mesmerized by all the flashy stuff that keeps distracting us while we keep running around like headless chickens trying to figure out the next best way to have 500 sales in our CB accounts in a week. All the pro's in here say the same thing: think ahead and start working.

I believe that one of the main reasons why so many of us beginners fail in this industry is because we don't enter it with the right mindset; we think like gamblers, looking for a quick buck, not like marketers who make long term business plans and strategies and work consistently towards the end results of those plans, constantly monitoring and tweaking the results for maximum impact.

So, get to it fellow marketer. Get started. And remember; there is nothing called "get rich overnight on autopilot". Time to roll up the sleeves and start working!

  • I believe it all starts by finding the correct niche/subniche etc then by eyeing up the competition.

You also have a very simple option to get you going, and that is the WSOs.

Try HEAVILY researching methods in one area of internet marketing, learn it until you'd consider yourself a pro in the area then create your own WSO from it. (warrior special offer)

The best thing about WSOs are you have the traffic, you have the sales platform and you have people who are looking to buy. All you need to do is create a product that is worthwhile. That does take time and effort, however if you work hard, you could potentially break even just from a single sale (if your WSO is $40). It is very low risk, very easy to create & can give you some extra startup capital.
