info product marketing

I am currently creating an information product aimed at the recruitment/jobseekers niche. I intend to sell it on as a PLR or MMR (forget the difference, will look into it) product. Its an area that I am expert in, having worked as an agent for 6 years and now run my own recruitment company.

So I am confident on creating a product that can add value to peoples sites/mailing lists as well as their costumers. However frankly once I have created it I have no idea what to do with it!

Obviously it could be marketed easily enough on my own domains, here, sitepoint, DP etc. more what I am wondering is how I am meant to provide a download link.

Now obviously I could just provide this one via email, and might well do in this instance, however I am also considering other info products that will be larger in size and so email would not be feasible.

How do i arrange it so that the link only works for people who have paid to download?

almost complete internet marketing newbie so appreciate all help!

Thanks

Nick

There are too many questions here to adequately address in one reply. However, I'll give a couple tips...

-offering MRR/PLR will cheapen your product and create competitors for yourself, so make sure you DO understand what it means. (It can be a great business model, I do it a lot... but as a newbie you need to realize you could sell one copy to a guru who will turn around and more-or-less put you out of business)

-the download link could be provided via email. But most commonly you would create a thank-you page that the customer is instantly redirected to after paying. It's not always necessary to protect this page, but it's a good idea to protect it with scripting if you're planning on selling it long term.

-If you want the link to only work for paid customers, then you would need to use some scripting. It would probably be easiest to buy a script such as dlguard.

thanks for that. was intending to research PLR, MRR models anyway but thats dlguard also added to the to do list.

very true on the thank you page. still at the intial stage of thinking all this through (at the very least the info product will be useful to my recruitment business if I don't decide to make money on it so it is not really a waste of time no matter what.)

appreciate any and all other pointers people might have

For selling your own product, a very easy way for payment processing and delivery would be through paypal - you should learn more about them.

You create your product, then the sales page, and then the thank you page with the download link.

All that remains is to login to paypal and create a payment button. It's pretty easy, you type in the price for the product and the thank you page url and paypal generates a button you can add to your sales page. People click on it, they pay and are automatically redirected to the thank you page where they download your product.

    Hi Nick

An option is DL Guard - I use it myself. YOu can set the download time and number of times you would like it to be available for download too

The other option is eJunkie which I use too

Both are easy. DL Guard you buy and you own. eJunkie you pay a $10 or more fee monthly depending on the number of products you want to sell. They can host the files or you can depending on your package

    Hope this helps

Resell Rights (RR) = The people who buy it can sell it to other people but those people cannot resell it.

Master Resell Rights (MRR) = The people who buy it can sell it to other people who can in turn resell it themselves.

Private Label Rights (PLR) = The people who buy it can put their own name on it and pretend they wrote it instead of you. They can also usually edit it in any way, including altering the information so it's no longer accurate.

There should really be a recognised distinction between PLR and White Label Rights, which basically means you can put your own name on it but you absolutely cannot edit or alter it, but that really hasn't entered the common awareness yet.

How do i arrange it so that the link only works for people who have paid to download?
E-Junkie is only $5 a month, and you can get four months free with the promotion code CRAFTBOOM when you sign up. Four months should be plenty of time to ramp up your sales to the point that the $200 and $300 self-hosted scripts are within easy reach, and decide which of a dozen or more you'd like to buy (DLGuard and RAP are the most common).

I actually like E-Junkie and have just been sticking with them.
