Outsourcing Dilema - Paid but now no contact

OK,

I am curious about what you guys would do. Last Sunday I paid a outsourcing here from the warrior for hire section to write 10 articles for me.

He said they would be finished on Thursday. Well Thursday came and went, no articles and no email. So Friday I sent him a email and a Skype message. Nothing.

If he needed more time, that is not a problem. But I would expect an email saying something like, "Sorry dude, accepted more work than I can handle at the moment. It is going to take me another week." But I got nothing.

On Monday sent another email and a PM. I simply said once again. "Just looking for an update. Let me know something"

And once again I have heard nothing from him. I don't think it is too much to ask to drop a quick note and say the articles are coming. Not hearing anything is making me wonder if he plans to actually finish the articles.

What would you guys do?

Jon

I always want to look the bright side of things.Maybe he is somewhere with no Internet access.Maybe a health problem occured to him or another member of his family or friend.Maybe his PC went bad.Give him 1-2 days more.Do not send him anymore. He got the message.

Now there are 2 cases.Maybe you will hear from him soon with news or not about your articles or you ll never hear from him again and lose the money you gave him in advance-if you gave him any money.

You did everything that you could of done. Now you wait, or you can write it off and hire another person.

      Jon,

Have you posted a 'note' on his warrior-for-hire thread?

Going forward, anyone considering his services would appreciate it.

It might be time to think about sending PayPal or you card company an e-mail.

      I'm just saying.

If it turns out that you don't get the articles, report it to the help desk. His ad should not be in WFH if he's only going to take the money and run. You can also leave a review in the thread. Probably can do a Paypal dispute also if you paid via Paypal.

Have you checked his profile to see when he last visited the WF? Maybe something happened as someone said that's preventing him contacting you but that gets blown out if he's logging in here for his PMs.

    Good luck sorting it out.

That is a good idea. Let me check.

Sending the help desk a little note might be a good idea too.

If they take your money and run, report it to the help desk.

Scammers shouldn't be doing business on this forum. Remember
that sometimes people can get delayed, so if you don't receive
it today, I'd contact the help desk and open a ticket.

I opened a ticket on the help desk.

My problem was not with him being delayed. I understand that life happens, people get hurt, writers take on more work than they can do.

My problem and what really bug the hell out of me is that he did not email me to keep me informed. He also did not respond to any of the 5 or 6 messages I sent him over the last 5 days. I mean just a quick note that said, I'm working on them. give me a few more days. And I would not worry.

However you paid, get your money back. Put the guy on your list of people to never work with again and move on to the next in line.

His problems aren't your problems. You paid for a job, it wasn't completed and your emails are being ignored. The guys is either a scammer, very unprofessional or was abducted by aliens. Whatever the reason, in business you want results, not excuses.

If at some point in the future the guy reappears with a doctors note or a video on youtube documenting his time trapped in a Chilean coal mine, maybe he deserves a second chance.

I've had this happen a few times. People don't responde to emails, but posting a warning on their warrior for hire thread, letting others know to stop sending MORE money is a great way to get their attention.

If that doesn't kick their butt in gear to churn out the articles, then get a refun through Paypal... I've also had to do that a few times...

Working with outsourcers is still work.
